I'm sorry if this has already been addressed here, but what exactly is the meaning of "Turn On For Now" regarding the new nightshift toggle in the control center, as distinct from "Turn On Until Tomorrow"? Is it that using "Turn On For Now" will leave it on until you manually turn it off?

On beta 1 no, on beta 2 even scrolling on Facebook lags (and believe it was butter like in beta 1)

Well, to be fair, the Facebook app is horrendous on all platforms. Lag has been on it since years ago. I think you're mixing up two unrelated things.

I just updated to public beta 2 and scrolling on the Facebook app is smooth as silk I don't know what lag he is referring to, I'm on a 6s by the way

I believe we are talking about 6 plus issues. The 6s should perform well on this release by its definition. :)

Exactly. Select the first one and it will stay on until you manually turn it off. The 2nd one will automatically turn it off in the morning.
There a 3rd option in settings that allows you to select a specific duration. Imagine, if you sleep at day and work at night, it will be helpful

No the last version of facebook is really really smooth, here on iOS 9.3 beta 1... the fact is that it wasn't on beta 2...
That is the reason to talk about facebook... If even there it was smooth imagine the rest.

I'm telling you, beside battery drop, the beta 1 was even better than 8.4.1.... they had finally fixed all the lag, and then, the 2nd beta comes out and #$%@s it again...

Just hopping that they will keep optimizing it till the final release

Once all the content has loaded Facebook feed is silky smooth on my Sony Z5 Compact and iPad Air 2. But yeah, I'm not trying to claim that it's a well optimised app, because it definitely isn't. Gobbles up stupid amounts of RAM on my Sony phone.

Cool. Yeah, I already had it on a schedule, with PB 1. Seems like a nice feature, especially if it's true that bluer light from a phone can interfere with the circadian rhythm.

I've done a quick video just to show how smooth it is on 9.3 beta 1... In 6 Plus you can't get this performance again in beta 2... it lags again, booth scrolling and CC
(don't know why it's only available in 480p60

For me, using a 6 Plus, the CC is smooth but the NC is horrendously stuttery. Every time, whether you pull it down slowly or quickly. It is smooth between Today and Notifications however.

Is there a setting to get rid of the text underneath the menu row on the bottom of the facebook app? (e.g. News Feed, Requests, Messenger, Notifications) or is it the typical facebook a/b test where they experiment with features and you're on that bucket?

Im continuing on my daily driver with iOS 9.3 beta 1... On iPhone 6 plus is more stable than beta 2. I've tested since monday the beta 2, and it was driving me crazy because on beta 1 CC, scrolling and Multitasking was butter smooth (like the old good days), but in beta 2 was lagging in CC and NC. So, if you have a 6+ I advise you to wait for beta 3.

I've downgraded to iOS 9.2 this morning and updated to 9.3 public beta 1.1, because I just couldn't stand the dropped frames and lack of optimization (and let's be frank the bad looking icon for night shift on CC)...

How did you do downgrade? Do you have to restore everything as clean instalation or is it possbile to just take PB away?

Gotta say that my Air 2 feels silky smooth on this beta. Same was true of beta 1 but it got bogged down after a while and the frame drops crept back in. Hopefully not this time around because performance has so far been flawless.

What could be causing these much complained about frame drops with the control centre/notification centre on iPhones? These have been silky smooth on my Air 2 since 9.1. The iPads have so much higher screen resolution to power than the iPhones, it makes no logical sense why these aspects of the OS are pure butter on iPad but choppy on iPhone?

In iOS 8 i had the labels but people with iPhone 6 didn't, don't know why but in iOS 9 at least in Portugal there isn't any labels. I think it might be due to some words length... but it's more clean this way
So I think it's language related

I've teste beta 2 since monday... but this morning 10.00GMT, i've restored to iOS 8.4 and then updated via Public beta (that was beta 1 at time)...

I think that it isn't possible anymore

Does anyone have a bulid number? I have the dev beta downloaded the cert and restarted now I can't tell if PB2 stuck.

Thanks

Landscape force touch icons menus is now smooth. Least on the 6s plus it is now better. Before, force touching the icons on landscape would go at like 10fps.
