Better performance
Bug hunting / tons of testing
iPad split screen / be able to "minimize" a app like in youtube while it still keeps running.
New better flat UI, the current one sucks, labels looks like the buttons, stuff is too small to grab (music bar button), can't see what is "usable".

I'd like to see the share menu accessible from a long press. This would allow targeting an image, link, selected text or embedded video for sharing to many different apps.

Examples would be long pressing an image to share to Evernote or a link to share to Pocket.

Multitasking is a must. There are jailbreaks for this but, being included in iOS 9, this feature would be absolute.

The new UI I agree needs to change. Just ensure that I can change the home button layout color (I want a dark black) instead of disable transparency turning the from dark grey to silver! The music app needs a extreme makeover! It does not look modern and, if somehow it could look like the carbon fibre design in iOS 6, I would love it! Heck, I then would buy another iPhone just for fun:)

Better Music and Notes app.

Music app -> equalizer settings, sound effects (as found in some other apps, but their app layouts are not very user friendly).

Notes app -> Options for customizing text-font size, color, folders - which are very basic features now a days.
There are other apps which do that, but the native Notes app syncs with iCloud which is very convenient to access from a PC and iPhone, or allow other apps to sync with iCloud.

iPhone 4S support as it's just bug fixes minus the :apple: watch support i don't need. Won't waste money on a secretary to my phone. :D

I'm not a fan of the 5/5S thinness (i don't use a cover) as i had the 5. I don't like the Android size 6/6+ and the New 4" 6C? may be sub par due to being built in the different factory.

Rocking the still up to date software side 4S till i have no other choice.

What does this even mean? iOS devices have been able to do this for years and years. If you're talking about leaving entire apps fully operational in the background the way it works on Desktop operating systems, that is just a terrible idea. No mobile operating system does this - not iOS, not Android, not Windows Phone, not Blackberry. It would simply destroy your battery and performance, and there is simply no sense in doing it. Apps have lots of ways to perform specific tasks in the background. Keeping the entire app process active all the time simply doesn't make sense on any sort of resource constrained device. Even OS X is moving in this direction. Today OS X apps can be suspended or have their resource-usage constrained by the OS whenever they're in the background (although developers can opt their apps out of this.)

Likely more about being able to use multiple applications at the same time (on the same screen).

- Multiple Apps on screen for iPad
- Spotlight API's for deep linked searches from the home screen
- Siri API's
- Enhanced UI based on screen size (think iPhone 6 Plus with Dock on the side, and enhanced keyboard when held horizontal)
- Defaults Picker (select different web browsers and etc)
- Public API for Carplay and Apple TV (Carplay seems like it's invite only much like AppleTV)
- Visible HomeKit UI (HomeKit exists, but there isn't a UI to directly control lights, thermostat, and etc directly)

iOS itself is actually incredibly refined compared to where others are. The gaps it has to put it over the top aren't really anything that any OS vendor really covers better from what I can see.

I want to see a tightening of the UI for the device itself. Apple Watch, and Apple TV are very different interfaces then iOS but share very similar cores. iOS for iPad should be more refined for that form factor. Not an overhaul, just a refinement.

Drafts app doesn't support any of those features either, and I am fine using it. I think the Notes app is fine as a basic note-taking app, and I believe Apple is treading a fine line between adding more functionality to their apps and not replicating features present in other apps.

I do wish I could insert images in the notes app though.

From what I read on how Background App Fetching works it functions like this already. The system determines opportunistic times to run the background tasks and groups them together. I can pull up the WWDC presentation to show you. Not sure if the fine grain details are known, but it does do this to an extent.

I don't get it. Why would you want iBooks in the iPod app?
For Podcasts, it's a different story. That should be allowed to be bundled in the iPod app (under radio)

Here you have some great points Everyone for iOS has a different perrspective. Some people like the old UI (ME:D) and others like the new one. Finally, we all have different opinions about bundled stock apps. Thus, being able to delete some stock apps is the key to better iOS reception. Like seriously what is Tips used for?

Finally above all, the multitasking app switcher close all apps is a must needed feature.!

Custom Skins

For iOS 9, I would like to see a feature called iSkinz . It is a app that allows you to customize your iOS UI! It is like a control panel for UI with toggle switches between the new and old ones. For example, you could toggle the old lock-screen to display or the new one. Finally, you can choose what each stock app looks like and, how it functions.

There is always 2 perspectives to any problem and, there are some materialism haters that swear by the book to keep iOS 6 (like me). Thus, in the end, everyone wins and, can make there iPhone look like how there heart desires:cool::)!

Tips is there to explain complication. Instead of working to make the os simple and intuitive you stick a tips pop up as it's far less work. ;)

Quite a bit of it would be nice. I'm not sure I'd want notifications and widgets combined as I'd rather have a quick way to check one or the other and not really scroll around looking for or possibly missing a notification in a longer list of everything combined. Not sure about level in maps as its not really related and although compass in a way is, there is a way to use some compass abilities as they relate to maps in maps already. As for refreshing data, also not sure about needing to refresh all tabs in Safari or something else along those lines as it would be consuming more data and efforts than typically needed as people don't necessrily always use all tabs each time they use Safari.

My wish (yes, only one):

Per contact message settings!

Let me explain:

Let´s say my sister switches to Android (God forbid) after a few years with iPhone. Then MY iPhone will try to keep sending her iMessages (and i will have to tap and hold that message and chose: "Send as SMS"). Why not letting us, in contacts, choose between: Messages: Auto (iPhone detects iMessage as it is today) or set to Manually (Only SMS or Only iMessage).

Much easier!

Please Apple! Add this feature and i shall name my first born to a name of your choice!

This happened to me and, it infuriated me! Last year with my iPad, i synced my contacts from my iPhone. I had custom labels like iOS 7 iPhone, iOS 6 iPhone and even iPad text. Well, eventually, iMessage on my iPad stopped working. The culprit was the custom names. Even for some iPhone users with iMessage enabled, I could not text them ! (but mysteriously my iPhone could send them iMessages)The problem has become easier to tackle than it used to be (once upon a time your phone # was being permetly registered with iMessage and, Android sms no longer going through!)

However, this problem still exists and, I hope iOS 9 fixes it! either way, i'm switching to android next year (unless iOS 9 is a huge improvement):p

This shouldn't be happening if she unregistered her number from iMessage properly. It used to be a pain to do this if you forgot and got rid of your old phone first, but now Apple has a simple web tool for removing a number from iMessage. In any case, if her number was not properly unregistered, this wouldn't really fix the problem. She might get messages from you, but anyone else with an iDevice would still be trying to send her iMessages. It's a problem that needs to be fixed on the receiving end, not by the sender.

And by Apple since they admitted that they weren't handling it correctly themselves in at least some cases.

That said, the option can still be useful for someone to be able to decide if they want to send an iMessage (even when available) or not, as it really should be up to the sender as to what type of individual message they might want to send.

On and Island that is Long.
10. Post to Twitter/Facebook from Notification Center again.

OMG YES !!!! Pulling down the screen to just post to fb w/o having to open the app was just awesome! If i'm busy running from a burning building and I have to tell the world about it I don't want to have to open the app and have to post. then if I want to take a picture the app crashes when I take a picture within the app.

Please get that feature back again! :p:p:cool::cool::rolleyes::rolleyes::D:D

The iPhone 4s will be four years old by then, time for a new phone I think.

Aaawww, you'RE buying all us 4s owners a new phone? THANKS PAL!! YOU'RE THE BESTEST!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

2) Allow texts from VIPS to come thru during Do Not Disturb, like phone calls. Or an option slider to allow them.

Never understood why that wasn't possible. Drives me nuts. I have to keep DND off when my son is sleeping over a friend's house and then I always seem to get app notifictioans or wrong texts or an ISS flyover text at 2 am to wake me up! lol.
