Called the apple store and told the employee I did the notify me for a 3G iPad on Saturday and he said "That sounds about right, we don't have any schedule for shipments. We're probably looking at next week sometime, I think we've caught up with the online store." I'm not entirely sure what that means. But when I did the notify me they said I would have one by today (doesn't look like it's going to happen).

I just purchased a 64GB 3G from the apple online store, figured it's a better way to go than living on a prayer waiting for stores in NJ to get them. Called 4 stores in my area, nobody has them.

Wait online is 7-10 days hopefully it wont be that long but I think its a better way to go than stores right now.

EDIT : Well I just recieved order confirmation and the projected ship date is May 28th........I wonder if any stores would have them in stock by then any chance...

I ordered a 64GB Wi-Fi/3G from the apple online store the evening of May 12, and the expected ship date is May 26 with a delivery date of May 29. (May 29 is a Saturday, so I hope that does not cause any issues.)

It will be interesting to see if it will ship faster than projected.

If anyone wanted to go the MacMall route, I called them today and they said that they don't have any 3Gs in stock but plan to get some in early next week.

I reserved a16Gb 3G ipad on 5/7 in Bridgewater, NJ. I called two days ago to find out what # I am on the waiting list and was told 78. I just called again, and I am #73. They don't seem to be getting in new shipments.

heh... Join the club. I've been #44 for two weeks now. Started at #46.

So, is there a way to find out your standing in the queue? I called my Apple Store and they told me that there is no way to find out your standing.

Funny you say that, as I just called my store in Las Vegas asking for the same info and they told me "nope, sorry...no way for me to check what number you are...you're just gonna have to wait for the email."

OUCH! Not feelin' the love yet....

..Today I went to a Genius Bar to have my IPAD checked concerning WIFI issue, so while waiting for my appointment i asked one of the employees what they have in stock out of curiosity i was told NONE whatsoever which i believed...So i was up for my apptmnt..i explained what was goin on and i didnt get any answer...the nice Genius guy simpy told me hell replaced it with a brand new 3G 64GB..i was kinda suprised cuz i was under the impression that they are out of stock..what would be the reason of why theyre not selling of whatever they have in stock??

Because so many of them break that apparently replacements are needed more than anything. My cousin had a wifi issue on his 3g and took it in yesterday and got a replacement on the spot as well... even though they were "sold out".

They have DOA inventory for swaps. I've swapped out 5 ipads for dead pixels and other issues at "sold out" stores. I also got a 64gb 3G

I'm in Vegas too, but have yet to find any 3G iPads available in Apple Stores locally. I reserved mine (32gb/3G) at the Town Square Store last Saturday afternoon (May 8th) via the "Notify Me" list with no word yet. Sneaking up on a week...growing more anxious...hands are sweating....body is shaking...having fits of anger....ya know...most of you are there too :)

I reserved a 16GB at the Town Square location that same day but haven't heard anything yet. I was there this morning just playing with them for a while and saw two guys come in to pick up their reserved ones. I wish I'd asked them what day they got on the list so I could have judged our placement. Oh well. I've also reserved 32GB units at the Forum Shops and Fashion Show stores (using different emails) so I hope to get good news from at least one of them soon. I'll be sure to post on here when I get notification and would love it if you could do so as well. Thanks!

Was told the same by the guy at my local apple store but he hang up by saying "thanks for being patient", maybe there's some love...lol

How difficult is it to find out what place you are in the waiting list?

I called my local retail store today to see if they could give me some indication of my status and was told that they have "no way of seeing where you are on the waiting list".

For those of you who did find out you place in line, was all you had to do was ask?

iPad 3G Reserved May 14th, 2010 - Richmond and Norfolk, VA

I reserved an iPad 32GB 3G via Apple's Notify Me service. The Richmond store told me estimated wait time was 5 days. Let's see how that estimate goes. LOL. Norfolk store I would assume has a bigger list due to all the military in the area. I will post how long it takes. Good Luck to everyone, LOL. :D

Dang, wish I would have been as smart as you were and spread myself around at the other stores too using other emails! Maybe, you could hook me up if you get (2) arrivals on the 32G's?? I'd love to take your spot at one of the stores if it works out that way!

I'll post any updates I get!

So I reserve another ipad, this time a different apple store under a different email. They said only the 3g models you have to reserve one. I'm guessing this apple store is a lot smarter so tourist can't have the 3g model unless they actually love here. The guy said "one to two weeks so I'm guessing the last week of may hopefully.

If Im right, the first reservation should come first, hopefully paycheck week since I did reserve one last week.

I ordered an iPad at the Washington Square Mall in Portland, and also ordered on online. I call the best buy stores every day, hopping that at least one of these will be able to supply an iPad soon. The only lone store says 7-10 days, but they estimate that it will not ship from apple until the 27th May, so the 7 - 10 day time frame seems a little bit of a lie.

I called the university store in seattle, they have a bunch of iPads, but it is nearly a 3 hour drive, so I am not bothering.

Quick turnaround at Boylston Street Boston

Hope this will help someone ...

... I reserved a 64GB 3G iPad on Tuesday afternoon (05/11) at the Boylston Street store in Boston (the largest in the USA). After reading other posts I was prepared for a two week wait.

I was totally shocked to receive my "Your iPad is waiting at the Apple Store" email yesterday at 1PM; a wait of just THREE days! PLUS ... I had two Gift Cards totaling $200 which they DID accept as partial payment (I used a CC for the balance). Though I did also get Applecare.

I don't know if my reservation was filled that quick because of the model or the locale (it's the largest Apple Store). But it certainly beats "Ships in 7-10 business days"

ALSO -- this past week they also got loads of iPad cases AND Camera Connection Kits (I thought the Kit would take longer!).

Hope this helps someone!

I hope that works for you, I reserved on Saturday and still nothing.
