iPad 3G - Apple Store availability

16GB 3G model, for my mothers birthday on the 18th :-/
It better be there by then... or I'm kinda screwed >_>
I reserved at the Fashion Valley San Diego, CA and at the UTC Apple Store also in San Diego, it is now sunday and nothing...

Well at this point I dont think the model makes much of a difference. I bought a 64GB 3G on Friday through apple online....wait time is just as long for all the other models..projected ship date is still May 28th...2 weeks after I made the purchase...I would have figured since its the highest end model I'd get it quicker thinking everybody wants the 16GB 3G....the only reason I bought the 64GB was because apple offered 0% financing for 12 months on purchases 900 and up. Otherwise I would have gotten a 16GB 3G..

Screw it, I'm to the point where I don't even want the thing anymore, the hype I had for it has already died. I put my name on the list on the 4th and was #46 at the time. I'm #44 as of today. I went ahead and removed my name, because at this rate the next generation will be out before they email me.

Now, let's see which comes in first. I am in no hurry as I previously had a 64 wifi that I have no longer. Life has gone on as usual. I missed it the first few days, but my 13 inch Macbook Pro and IPhone seem to be filling in admirably for now.

May 6th Palo Alto Stanford still nothing.
May 8th SF downtown still nothing.
They both say a week but I am over that. I will be shocked if I get one before the end of the month. May just give up and wait for the new iPhone.

I think no matter how we do about getting one of these, i.e. Best buy, Reserve apple store, or apple online, the wait till be the same...My wait is 2 weeks for apple online to ship mine. I would assume that everybody will wait about the same...
Maybe. But, if that's the case and we're all in "the same boat" so to speak, then why are some able to place a "Notify Me" reservation then be emailed within 1-3 days saying "your iPad is ready for pickup"? And others have already waited for 2 weeks or more?
Somethings out of 'whack' here, eh? or are some of us "just luckier" than others? I live in Vegas...and I ain't never been this "unlucky" in the last 20 years... LOL

I reserved a 3G 64gb and a 3G 32GB iPad on Tuesday May 11th under different emails athe Fair Oaks store in VA...at the time I wasn't sure which I wanted due to confusion over how much space videos take up.
The email came today (the 17th) for the 64gb which I picked up, but did not receive anything for the 32gb which is weird cause they said the 64gb was the most desired and had the longest wait time.
The email came around 11am.
