iPad iPad Air 2020 thread!

You good folks are a "hoot." Seriously, I learned much from the posts. Thank you.

I am spending a fortune for this iPad. I hope it's worth moving up from a iPad Air 2.
1. iPad Air4 - patiently waiting to order
2. Apple Pencil - ordered and received
3. Magic Keyboard - ordered and received
4. Pad & Quill Oxford Leather Case - ordered
 
Any Air buyers going to get a Magic Keyboard also?

Im just curious how the added step of TouchID will affect usage. (With FaceID then youre instantly logged in but TouchID will add an extra step to the login process.)

Yeah, I also see the "Ships on: Friday, October 23rd" However, delivery is probably based on where they are seeing you IP address from...mine says delivery "Arrives by Tue, Oct 27"
 
I see the 4th gen Air starting to show up for pre-order with other vendors, like Adorama too
- shows various colors & configurations, Pre-order now and "will be shipped on Oct 31, 2020"

Adorama has had it as a preorder for several weeks. They had an earlier shipping date and then put it to the end of the month.

In other words, they're guessing. Don't take any date given by a retailer as gospel unless it's Apple. Other retailers use placeholder dates all the time.

It’s the same if I click buy for Mac products too....I swear if I wake up at 5 and the iPad isn’t available for preorder I’m going to be so mad lol. But also Apple never announced it would be available for preorder 🤦🏻‍♂️

yeah, you get the same "you're early" right now if you click on "Buy" for any product - Mac, Apple TV, iPad... whatever.

I think they're just getting the site ready for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro which are open for pre-order starting tomorrow (10/16)

Prosser is still adamant that the air will be available to preorder alongside the iPhone and also stated that reviewers will receive the Air and the new iPhones tomorrow. Also if you go onto Verizon.com and look up the iPad Air there’s a countdown timer saying when it’s available and it’s currently counting down to 5 AM so it might actually be available at 5. Fingers crossed.

It only makes sense at this point for the Air 4 to be available to order.
 
People in the UK, do you know how quickly Argos stocks new Apple products? We're getting increased Colleague discount until the 26th but I'm not sure whether to keep waiting or to just preorder today.

FYI, it gives that message for every purchase page on the site. Just like before their events, when Apple takes the store offline, they do it for every product, even if it has nothing to do with what they're changing.

That being said, I'm 99% sure we'll be able to order the Air in just a few minutes. (Nothing is 100% certain in life).
