USA. Mine was originally jun 9th-jun23
Thanks. Well, I’m really glad you and JoshRTek0 are getting express delivery. I’m going to assume per UPS’ usual policy with me, it won’t come a day, let alone 6 days, earlier than they say. I’m assuming some scans haven’t caught up or something, but the expected delivery date hasn’t changed and I haven’t gotten the “you have a package scheduled for delivery tomorrow” e-mail from UPS either.

Question for both you snd JoshRTek0: Does your tracking show coming from China or someplace else (like within the US)?

So my stuck after departing from EPZ woes look like what happened to DavisS53 and a number of others. In the last ship, ent (but not everyone), except it’s been longer now. One of the theories then was it might have to do withb3ing on a weekend; clearly that doesn’t seem the case. I’m guessing maybe a backlog at ZhengZhou checking in. Seems more likely that something actually left after being clocked out, but is stuck in the input queue at the next destination. At least that’s my speculation.

My ot1her reasoning here is that I figured out EPZ by itself doesn’t necessarily mean a single place. There is one in Pinghi, near the border with Hong Kong (perhaps that’s the one that the person who is departing from Hong Kong went through. There is also an EPZ in ZhengZhou, so I’m guessing it deals wit’h most of ours.

I‘m sorry yours got “stuck”, and I suspect that you’ll see arrival in Zhengzhou today. Actually, mine never really got stuck, and it did spend more time in China since it was a weekend, after all. There were a few from my group who spent an extra day in China, leaving Zhengzhou on Wednesday instead of Tuesday, as most in my group did. (Most in my group arrived in Zhengzhou Monday AM to leave the next day). Once your parcel leaves China, I can assure you that it moves really fast. Typically it leaves China in the morning their time, which is late in the day (Eastern time) the previous day in NA, due to the 12 hour or so time difference and International Date Line. There was one more day in transit for mine at the end, since my location in Eastern Canada requires a couple of extra flights from Louisville. I received it less than 6 days after being shipped, on the Thursday.

As for why some in your group are getting theirs on Friday, the only explanation that I can offer is that some are being shipped from the USA and not China, possibly because there was some stock available in your country.

12.9 WiFi + Cellular, pre-ordered from ATT. Delivery window was June 3-10. Contacted ATT cust. support twice yesterday, was assured it would ship on time the first time and the second time even told it was shipped, only to one hour later receive an email that the delivery date slipped to July. While I don’t mind sitting tight, it bothers me that ATT can’t be more upfront about delays.

AT&T orders are way behind and all they sell is the cellular one. Some got theirs initially including someone in my household, they ordered the 12.9 SG 1TB got it on 5/21, I even read some got their 2TB one already in another thread. I pre ordered the 2TB the morning they went live. Dates changed from Expected to ship: Fri., May. 28, 2021 - Mon., Jun. 7, 2021 to Expected to ship: June 27 - July 7, 2021. I think it will ship sooner but who knows. I always order the cellular ones from AT&T and this is the first time they didn’t meet the initial ship dates.

Interesting, and different from any in either the first or second batch. It’s entirely possible, with this alternative route, that you may skip the Korea part of the trip entirely, and go straight to Anchorage, then Louisville. All going well, yours should be in Kentucky by tomorrow, for delivery either later tomorrow or on Monday.

Best of luck!

yea, i’m guessing HK may be the alternate for Korea. Someone in this batch left through HK a few days ago as well.

All UPS flights out of HK seem early evening HK time and my time stamp was too late to make the last batch. the next batch is not yet posted.

i do think it will make it here by Wednesday. i’d be pleasantly surprised to get it earlier, but I’m not sure I’ve seen UPS ever deliver early to me.

If you try to order one now, it says "Delivers between June 18, 2021 and June 25, 2021". They are just misinforming their customers, raking in a bunch of pre-orders and possibly creating a backlog issue for themselves.

as in “departed from EPZ” but hasn’t appeared yet? Or sitting in HK?

the next UPS flight out is ~7:30pm Hong Kong time (about 4:30am pdt). the second one is an hour later, so nothing will likely move from HK until about 15 hours from now if i have deduced the route correctly. Apparently they are really flights to Louisville with a stop in Anchorage.
they look like 6 days a week (dark Sunday).

Do you have an Apple Store near you? I pre-ordered from Apple and had a date at the end of the month. Two days ago, I found a 2TB cellular model at a nearby Apple Store. So I bought that one and cancelled the other.

That’s for the info UPS shows “on the way HK ”. I checked the tracking # on a parcel tracker website and it showed more detail - arrived in HK as of yesterday at 11:18 am. So, not sure why it didn’t make the 4:30 PDT flight from today morning. My location is Louisville and tracking is still showing Monday 7 pm delivery.

Weird. i have no idea what that means then. Mine said it departed EPZ a day plus ago then “Arrived at facility” Chek Lap Kok, HK.

i’m generally skeptical of anything odd s third party trscker says that isn’t available through the carrier app and/or website. my question is where are they getting the info from?

I was one of the people who's ship date was pushed to June 27-July 7. I ordered the 2TB celluar optioon in space gray.

My credit card was just charged and I got the message from ATT on their order page.

"Great news! We're just about ready to ship your order.

Stay tuned--we'll let you know when it ships."

So they might finally be catching up on their backlog....

There was an extra flight at 11:52am on 6/11 HK time. I do not know if I or anyone else was on it at the moment; my scans have so far often showed late anyway. But since I’m not scheduled until Wednesday, UPS is probably in no hurry to move mine along.

For direct orders from the Apple Online Store, how different are people's actual delivery dates than the one shown on Apple's website? I'm in Malaysia and my ETA is 6/25-7/12 (ordered 5/25). Wondering when I should expect the status to change to "preparing for shipment".

The trend for North American shipments seems to be about a one week shipment window, although some in this second wave seem to have picked up much shorter ship times. I don't have enough information from those cases yet to determine why they were shorter; I need the UPS tracking info from those cases where this occurred for those people in the same window as me. That said, it usually goes to "preparing to ship" one to about three days before it actually ships. What Apple originally quoted me was a delivery window of 6/9–6/23 and in the original confirmation email, a shipping window that was basically the same size window, but two weeks earlier. The first orders were actually arrived at the beignning of their windows (5/21). THis one seems more varied in that some seem to ship pretty close to the same time but take only a few days to arrive while others take over a week. So far I haven't seen enough consistent information to determin if there is a pattern.

The case in the UK was different in that they apparently go preparing to ship when their shipmints leave China, but don't show they are shipped until they arrive at Hinckley in the UK and are shipped to the end users from there, so they spend a long time in preparing to ship and only a day or two to actually arrive after being"shipped", whereas the North American orders typically take a week after being "shipped." Or at least that's my partern.

The service type on my order is something like UPS World Express Saver or something like that. If you know how packages from China usually track when shipped through UPS arer to Malaysia, you'd have a slightly better idea of how soon it will take once it ships.

Some people are in this window got moved up. Some of us were always here. Very few have been shifted to a later window and no one I know of has missed their latest window date.. I would expect the situation might improve for later orders as the dust settles.
