when using the pick up in store would we have to put an order through on the 21st at midnight?
Or is there a specific time

I have no idea. I’m still thinking that this is a long shot only worth trying, since my online order will be so late. I wouldn’t even be thinking of this option if I had been able to procure an earlier delivery window.

It says Friday pickup at UPS CC on the website. The app says Monday. I changed it to UPS CC pickup. Time will tell which date I get it.

Still says preparing to ship
Mines similar to yours, 12.9 but to Vancouver bc, it moved to preparing for shipment on sunday and CC charged but no movement since then. UPS my choice doesn't have anything incoming neither =( my original date is 28-june 03 so I guess this week I wont be getting it maybe next week.

If it says Friday delivery I wouldn’t mess with it unless you have to. Sometimes changing an order to pickup can add additional time for processing and sorting. Very rarely has opting to pick up a package from UPS not ended up being a major PITA for me

I'm leaving Friday and don't want it outside my house all weekend. I've never had a problem with it. Hopefully doing it so early will help avoid any problems.

LOS ANGELES BABY!!
First MacRumors post, couldn't resist this awesome thread any longer--

I've got a 12.9 Space Gray 1TB engraved on the way, and got my order in within the first 5-10 mins on 4/30. On the west coast and UPS has me currently scheduled for delivery on Friday, but mine has been stuck in ZhengZhou since Friday with no further updates, so hoping it hasn't gotten held up. Maybe just a regional factor that's determining what order things go out, and will pass along any updates soon as I get em. Great, exciting thread, and can't wait to get this beast in my hands and start setting it up.

B
I am the same. Mine is stuck there too. Since Friday. I am in Los Angeles also.

I don't know why it would cause a problem at my CC, it literally just comes from across the street. But with COVID, who knows what requirements they have now.

I was able to pickup my iPhone in October with no problem.

Maybe it’s gotten better or perhaps my local center isn’t the best. I had a couple lousy experiences where they had either delayed order or I showed up and they told me they couldn’t locate it. I avoid the hassle now unless I don’t have a choice

I‘m thinking more and more that the reason so many of my fellow Canadians have been at the “preparing to ship“ stage for so long is that tracking will only be available from Toronto onwards, and only after it clears customs in Toronto will it progress to the “shipped” stage. I’m thinking that the China to Canada part of the tracking won’t be available. It’s similar to what is going on in the UK thread, where tracking will only be available after Hinckly.

I could be totally wrong, since mine won’t be shipping for a couple of weeks, but my fellow Canadians who are farther along will know more.

In a way, it would be nice to have a Canadian thread of our own, but I don’t know whether there are enough of us to warrant having one.

For my iPhone 12 Pro, I could track it from China.

I think you're correct in saying we won't receive shipping details until the units are in Canada already. While still somewhat stressful, I trust that I'll receive mine on Friday (in Toronto). I prefer that over receiving shipping information a week and a half prior to launch and tracking every single step from China wondering why my iPad is stuck in China or hasn't arrived in Alaska etc. I think that stress would be too much to handle - I don't know how you Americans do it!

I think you’re right. I am still on preparing to ship

UPS has cargo flights from its Louisville World Port to all its US hubs. Example- to Ontario, Oakland, Phoenix, etc. The Apple orders will leave Louisville by UPS flight to your hub and then on the truck (or trucks if you live in another city) The Phoenix hub for example handles the whole state. Arrive Phoenix, on a truck to the Tucson hub and then on another truck to you. The IPPs will leave Louisville to make the various connections to get to you on your delivery date. My last order left Louisville day 1 and was in my hands late day 2, the promised delivery date. If you lack things to do and have the time, Google UPS Louisville or UPS Worldport and take the youtube tour. Amazing place.
For us on the west coast in Canada, I've had previous pre orders come from China via Louisville and then either to Seattle and then to Vancouver, BC or straight to Vancouver, BC (Richmond) from Louisville, and then onto a small cargo plane to Victoria, BC for myself. Mine has currently been sitting in Louisville for 3 days.

The pallets of iPads are sitting in a Louisville UPS hub under police security. They won’t be broken down until Thursday, at which point they will be thrown on the conveyor system and happily make it along their way to your home city hubs magically overnight. Same way it’s been since I was on the police security detail for the first iPhones (Except those sat in semi’s for weeks in a lot…yes weeks)

Big difference here, unlike launches in the past, Apple hasn’t specified an exact date for delivery. We are already in the second half of May.
