If you want to double check, I'd log into your Paypal account and look at the transaction on there.
And make sure you're eligible for protection if it goes t1ts up.
Oh, and just so as you aren't in any doubt. The buyer did get £400 taken from him (either his credit card or account balance). PayPal take their cut out of this, and send you the balance.
It's unfortunate, but if you read the PayPal T&C's you will see that there are fees that need to be paid, and someone, either you or the buyer, has to pay them.
The norm is the seller (especially on Ebay), though by prior arrangement you can agree for the buyer to pay them, but in this instance, I think you will have to put it down as a learning experience and take the hit.
Oh, and you are still due a bill from Ebay too which you will need to pay.

If I were to order from BB or Ebay today, and the official Apple price and release were to be announced on Friday ? Or next Tuesday ? And it were less than what I paid if I ordered now (which is likely, let's face it). How sick would I feel then ? As a parrot, matey. Money is important to me.
So far hope is still in sight, we're still in April. As far as I'm concerned, we're too close to the promised finish line right now for me to plunk down my cash elsewhere. I don't exactly have a shed load of it to burn. I want an iPad, but I am not about to risk it this close to the promised date of late April. One would assume that we will know one way or the other come the end of April. There will either be concrete dates, or another delay.
If Apple go back on it again and delay for some unspecified time, I'll go elsewhere. Until there is more news though I'm hanging on.

Well i buy on ebay and the money comes straight out my bank account via paypal so does that mean im registered or is there another thing you need to do ?

You go to Withdraw > Transfer to Bank Account and then type in the amount. Thankfully, Paypal no longer charge for this, although the swines used to. Get ready for your hefty eBay fees as well. I hate eBay, but everyone sort of has to use it.
I need help deciding if I am going to wait for the UK iPad release or get one from eBay or one of the US/UK import sites.

My dilema is this - THE PRICE!
If Apple are decent they will set the price at around £380 which is a big saving but I have a horrible feeling they will set it more likely at at least £440 and then the 32GB will be £540 etc...
At those prices the difference between UK and US is almost non-existant and they could well come up costing the same at 32GB prices as eBay or imported.
In fact right now it may be a BETTER deal to get it imported if I wanted 32GB than wait for Apple.
I really don't know what to do... my concern is IF Apple prices are close to the US prices that the US importers/eBay will increase their prices and not ordering now means I lose out on a good deal.
I need some help sorting this out!

No expert on this but it seems to be a simple case of taking a gamble. It might pay off, it might not.
Personally if you can accept the price and issues that surround importing then do it. If you can't, then wait for the UK release and accept that you might be paying more.
I am going to wait. I want to make sure that I get what I pay for direct from the apple store.

Might be worth importing, finally picking mine up tommorrow, but I've got charges to pay on it, all in all going to set me back around 600 for the 32gb. Thing is I can live with that, unfortunately I cannot control my urge to have one in my hands as soon as, besides I've convinced myself it's going to be 549.99 in the uk anyway.
Many happy returns. It was my sons birthday yesterday hence I was missing all the fun here on the forum. We had a day out. Nice meal in manchester. Visit to the Apple shop in the Arndale to get the latest on the iPad. More chance of getting next weeks winning lottery number out of them.

Next tuesday is my guess...don't get your hopes up for friday because it'll over-shadow the new macbook announcements...so i reckon they'll leave it at least a week.

Don't know if this is old news but the UK apple site says now that the iPad is coming in late April. (So not in May as one store employee stated).
Expected price should be 349-399 pounds based on extrapolating iPod Touch prices. My guess would be the higher figure.
