Is there anyone left on here who is waiting for the UK launch :p
I still am! Even though I bought one, I'll be picking up a 16gb as well for my girlfriend. Also, I think by the time it's released I'll be pining for a dock and case. :D

Did anyone see this article? Apologies it's a bit old, but it's nice to know how they propose to spend taxpayers money! :D

It is the D*ily M*il so I wouldn't expect the truth.

Meanwhile did anyone else spot this in the article........

axpayers could be forced to foot a £30,000 bill after a Town Hall earmarked some of its 'climate change' budget to buy iPads.

Cambridge council .............
............Matthew Sinclair, Research Director at the TaxPayers' Allian................

Takes me back :)

I'm as impatient and disappointed as the others, but I'm still waiting. I really don't want to get one off eBay. I'm hoping I can have one delivered to me rather than have to go to the store. There are only 2 stores in my country.

Whilst I'm waiting for mine to get here - I thought I'd setup a US iTunes account.

All went smoothly, but been waiting a few hours for the verification email.

Anyone been through this, how long did the email take..

Thanks
Drew

yea...it took *forever* ( or about 2 hours )

remember to use an Oregon address or similar...one with no state tax!

Yeah, I find it much more fun to have the anticipation build as launch day edges closer, and then to be a part of the explosion of new people who own one.

If I wanted to have one by now, or to be one of the first, it doesn't look like it was too hard. I'm just not going down that road. But I'm glad some have, cos we get to hear some little reviews and ask questions.

The only way I'd import one is if they announce that it's delayed in the UK for months, or if they shaft us on the price beyond what I'm already expecting.

ive been repeatedly checking eBay for the last couple of days as my frustration (and childishness) grows! but the more I look the more I am amazed that SO many people have given in and bought from there.

dont get me wrong, im as excited an apple fanboy as anyone else on here but I have yet to see what you could class as a good deal on there.

You cant (to my knowledge) find anything UK based for more than a few pounds under £500, and thats for the 16GB model...which we're expecting to be no more than £420-£430 on launch...is £70-£80 worth having it a week or 2 early? If you ship from the states you run the risk of incurring import taxes that bring the price to around about the same anyway, or more if you're really unlucky, and then there's the possible delays etc.

Obviously if people have the money spare then good on you, im not having a pop and i dont mean to come across so negative, cos i have come so close to caving myself, i guess im just typing this out to try and convince myself not to press "Buy Now" :(

Hmm

I used my Aunties house in Conneticut - Does it matter?

Was going to use mainly for a freebies for now till UK comes online.

in that case not at all! I wanted to subscribe to a few US magazines and didnt see the point in paying state tax on top of the listed price! ( well...thats my thinking anyway....I havent actually bought anything as the pad doesnt arrive until thursday lol )

sounds like he's paid you with a paypal gift - and not paid the fee, which means you have.

try and get hold of him and ask for the other 15 queenheads.

Unless stated otherwise, I always expected the seller to pay the PayPal fees. If you had stated that only PayPal Gift is accepted, and the buyer is to pay any fees, then yes, I would say you could go back and ask for the extra £15, but my understanding is that the seller takes the PayPal fee hit, unless agreed differently beforehand.

Someone said it is my paypal fees ? is that wrong or is it definitely him

No, you have to pay a fee for using PayPal.

So what do i say to the buyer he is new to ebay and on 0 feedback !!!!!!!

Unless you made a prior agreement for the buyer to pay the PayPal fees, it is your responsibility (the seller) to pay them.

You should have read the terms and conditions before signing up. You are also going to get a bill from eBay for about 10% of the sale price for their selling fees. ;)
