I agree with earlier poster, Apple would do themselves a lot more good if they slowed down US supply and share with the rest of the world however being a US company it aint ever gonna happen!!!
So glad I went the ebay route (1 x 16Gb £430, 1 x 32GB £470 delivered), my iPads should be with me this week (I use a US iTunes account anyhow as UK store sucks content wise)

Though I'm not happy with the waiting it means by the time the launch comes round another pay day would have gone by which means improving on my original choice and saving for some accessories as well! And at least we know when we can pre-order. Bring it on!!! Though in themean time with all the waiting my mates brother goes to America in the next couple of weeks. It's so so so tempting to ask him to bring me back one!!
I wholeheartedly agree with this, it is also nice to get your TV fix ages before they air in UK
I was not going to take the US route but I am now looking at it as a possibility. I have a good friend in the US not too far from an Apple shop. A couple of quick questions someone may have already found answers too.
Are they still a stock item over there or have stocks run dry.
I know Bundlebox say the import duty is waived by our customs and excise. Is that only for them or does it apply to ones ordered through them or does it apply to any iPad imports.
Finally. Would marking this as a gift make any difference. She would probably send it as a gift anyway, I will have to insist on paying probably.

My mums gone to florida today but I was still going to wait till the end april to grab one but if its going to be delayed till the end of may im going to ask her to fetch the 32gb iPad back. It will prob work out cheaper too thx to rip of britain.
So why not give the worldwide loyal Apple fans the next bite at the cherry, instead of some lazy American who waddles down to his local Apple Store a month after release to get one?

Considering importing... Had a few questions of you knowledgeable gents:
If we import a US 3g iPad will it work with our uk networks??
And will we be able to use our uk iTunes accounts once the uk store is "activated"? Got too many iPhone apps, would hate for them to go to waste.

1) Nobody knows. I'd say "unlikely without trickery".
2) Yes you'll be able to use the UK app store on your US iPad just fine - just log out of the US App Store on your iPad and log in to your UK account, but you don't need to wait for anything to put your existing iPad or iPhone apps on there from your iTunes software. Also you can buy plenty of iPad apps in the UK iTunes Store from your computer, right now!
