It doesn't work anymore - Apple got wise to that last week and cancelled numerous orders placed that way.
Cheers. Just applied a Radtech screen protector and an Invisible Shield on the back. Trying to treat it with kid gloves for the moment... because I suspect I'll want to sell it and buy a 64GB model at some point in the future!
Just ordered a Lacie Coat for it from Cancom so I can protect it when it's in my bag. Seems like a decent product for the price:

How u finding it with the screen protector? A few people have said having one on reduces the responce of the touch screen?
Seems fine to me but then I use one on my iPhone too so maybe I'm used to it. It's one of the glossy Radtech ones. Honestly cant tell the difference between this and when it was naked.

Guys need some advice please. Just got a guy on Ebay (in the US - I'm in the UK) to accept an offer on a 32Gb ipad. He has sent me an invoice directly through Paypal (not through ebay). He has good feedback from what I can see. Is it safe to PAY him like this as he wants to save his Ebay fees!!

My nephew just sent me the anticipated pricing article (guardian i think) i doubt it will cost as much as they were anticipating. Thats said, I'm mailing him one today. See, i did my part for the home country! Keep hope EU members, not long now.
My iPad arrived at 9 this morning, and I've had a lot of fun since! For those still waiting (for the official release or for their imported one to turn up), you've got a real treat coming.
I had very high expectations for this thing and it's matched or exceeded them all.
I've aldready bought a couple of books on iBooks and 1 through the Kindle app (plus about a dozen free ones), and I can already say this will revolutionise reading for me. I know some will say that's over the top, but for me it's not. I'm partially sighted and reading from books is very awkward. Being able to increase the size of text and brightness of books is close to life-changing for me.
Bring on Under The Dome by Stephen King in bed tonight
Videos are sensational - was watching The Hurt Locker earlier and the experience is very surreal: like a miniataure home cinema experience, with earphones in and such a vivid screen so close to your face. Amazing!
Surfing via Safari is great too, although most of mine can be done within apps, like IMDB, news apps, and so on. When all the major sites have dedicated iPad apps, it's gonna be a real pleasure, and even rival browsing on my desktop PC.
Oh, and a thumbs up for Comic Zeal from me. Already put hundreds of comics on it and it works a treat. Literally everything looks great in this screen.
And 5 or 6 hours of near constant use and my battery is still saying 60%. Wow!
Hope this post isn't too OTT for people who are still waiting. While I was waiting, the first impressions from everyone else were greatly appreciated, so I hope I'm doing something similar.

well today still no change however i do have news, i finally got hold of customs, they confirmed my parcel was released back to parcelforce with charges on £30.76 on the 14th, so i then went back to parcelforce, they state that there is a masive backlog with parcels sent between customs and parcelforce, so if customs have released it it sitting in this delay, they have told me to wait till friday and if still no joy they will then look into it further
well i have more news stll no ipad
but at least i know why, after a LOT of calls to parcel force i have found that customs have lied it has not been released, , i was given a number to call and a new reference number, believe it or not its UPS that does the clearing on behalf of customs for Parcelforce, my package has been sent to stores as no invoicing information has been put in it, yesterday on the 19th they have sent me out a letter requesting a copy of the invoice or Paypal receipt, although i has not had this letter yet as i am vat registered(i work for my self) they can do it with out filling in the form, today i have had to send my Paypal receipt and vat details via email, once they have look at these it will then be charged and released in the next 48 hours Paypal still cover you for item not received as long as the paypal transaction is set as 'goods.' Worst case you can initiate a chargeback from your CC. Paypal outside of ebay will not cover you for description discrepancies, but it will cover you for item not received. I've done plenty of transactions this way Saying that though, ebay final value fee won't be massive (about £30) so worth pushing to have it done through ebay to be on the safe side.
Go on eBay to the pay page and click the option to request an invoice or similar and get him to use that instead.

Really good instant impressions post, and this part was really good to hear. Reading is one of life's principal pleasures!
The iBook app is a very impressive one, particularly with the Project Gutenberg titles just a search away.
Since I got my eBay iPad a week ago it's really become part of my life after those amazing first hours. When the end of May comes I'm looking forward to getting a 3G UK model and reading everybody else's first UK impressions too.

Thanks for all your advice guys!! Really appreciated - knew this was the best place to ask! Anyways, after checking his feedback, he seemed a genuine guy so I have plunged for the Ipad and paid him. He promised to ship it today and so am waiting for him to provide tracking info in the next few hours. Cant wait to get my iPad - finally!!!!
It was sent on Monday with UPS express. Flew to Spain and then was flown to UK tonight.
Awesome! That is the shipping service I choose and he is shipping today, so hopefully mine will hit the UK by Friday.
