Well i'm waiting for a 3G version, and once its out in the US i want to see some feedback so i figure waiting until the end of may cant hurt. Also, i get paid on 20th May so i could go for a bigger capacity by then. 64gb 3G maybe :D

I'm still standing strong and not breaking towards foreign imports. I was quite happy they put the dat back gives me a chance to save more so get a better iPad and all the Accessories that i want. 2 Weeks 5 Days to go till Pre order!! Anyone have any idea what time this will start happening?

Im in the same boat atm! tho it would be nice if Steve could send some to our Apple stores. At least then we could actualy see/play with one.

I'm another Hanger-on'er.

Im glad people are staying strong!! Just couldnt do it myself :) didnt really want a 3G as i dont want to pay for 2 data plans that i dont see myself using so thought what have i got to lose!

if you have an iPhone I really don't see the point of getting a 3g because you can easily tether with mifi or similar if you're unlocked. Unless you are using it out and about all the time, this is a simple free solution.

Sim card capability/option and mini sd slot

Personally I'm fine without 3G but I wouldn't mind having the mini sd card option.
Btw I love my non 3G iPad :D

For a lot of people, GPS if the point of it, as well of the added option of 3G if you want it.

But again if you have an iPhone with GPS what is the benefit of having it in the iPad? It was the only reason i was going to get a 3G iPad but then noticed that really it was stupid idea for me!

Well the iPhone screen is very small for a Sat Nav app, the iPad should be really cool. I use Sat Nav a lot, so it would be a huge benefit for me. Hopefully Navigon will release a HD iPad version.

Not think its a little to big to put in the window of your car?:)

And how would they know so soon? 20 DAYS before Apple's official announcement? Almost impossible...And there is simply no way I would believe the base model to be 600 pounds...

Gibraltar is a tax haven. There is zero added tax on things, so if that is the price then it's going to be 17.5% more than that i UK. HIghly unlikely I reckon. I take all prices now with a total pinch of salt because it's just a marketing trick. Release made up prices = free advertising. People do it on froogle all the time. Make something lower than everyone else, and low and behold it's out of stock, and when it comes in stock, it's more expensive. That company is employing the same tactic, but just with random made up prices I reckon.

But for people who have an iPhone, you don't need 3g, cos you can tether, at no extra cost (the workaround way) and same with GPS. WHy would you want GPS on your iPad if you already have it on your phone? Unless you want to go with the previous suggestion of using it as a sat nav device on your dashboard..! lol

I have an iPhone 3GS with GPS. But I am going for the iPad 3G just for the GPS. Why? Simple. Same reason everyone else who has an iPhone is going for the iPad. Bigger display. I do a lot with maps plus I fly. So the bigger maps combined with GPS is the most important to me.

I'm another one who is holding out.

Newton Systems made me chuckle with their prices... :D

Only holding out so I have a UK iPad that I know there will be no issues with warranty etc. Also, have yet to see a well priced one in the UK.

The only way to get a 'good' price is to have a friend or yourself to fly there any bring one back, hoping to miss customs.

Well after WI FI issues, and the delay, I decided to buy a DSLR camera and enjoy learning photography. So now I can enjoy the good weather without thinking in the ipad. I will get in on its 2nd revision. It always was the wise think to do. I was hipped.

It's a pity for apple not tell about the delay a bit later. They could have said that they appreciate European costumers like Americans, and blame the ash cloud.

So enjoy the ipad during this year folks.

Cheers!

Keep up, i do want to use it on my dashboard. The iPhone is ok for my motorbike, but the screen is too small for the car.

I dont think tethering two mobile devices together is a very elegant solution, i can see the point for a laptop, but not for an iPad. I wont be doing that.

If a friend flys to the states and buys an ipad for himself, does he need to pay customs on it??

If the value is over £390 then yes. Currently (and dont think it will change any time soon) the 16GB and 32GB iPads fall under that category as the 32Gb is around £388 (without sales tax).

But to be on the safe side if you put it in your hand luggage you would be fine :)
