Yes you can transfer apps you have bought via itunes on your computer over to your grey imported ipad without issue. Scarily I have 67 ipad specific apps already :D

It depends on how busy they are, normaly takes a couple of hours all so to show up in your 'arrived' box. On April 3 it took them all day to book in the iPads coming to the UK!

Thanks that makes me feel a little better tho I hope they can sort it out so I can get them to ship it tonight.

Disappointed in iPad

I am disappointed in the iPad. I have followed the news about the ipad closely and i was very excited about it. I went over to Seattle USA for family visit and of course to buy the iPad. When I saw it just didn't felt right, slow++, lots of finger prints, apps and films didn't work at all well-very slow. Safari without flash is crap. I tried several iPad in the shop all the same result. I bought two ipad and sold them on - no extra charge :p to my father and a friend. All the iPad has to offer my iPhone,/laptop can do - and better. With faster processor, more memory (my iTunes is already 98Gb), 4G (I strongly would discourage buying the 3G), better graphic interface and finally yes Flash would be very nice. several of my wifes American colleagues who bought an iPad went back using there laptop/iphone.

Sorry to put a negative response to the ipad. I was very optimistic about buying one but in the shop it really turned me off!

I will wait for the upgrade....

But you bought two anyway!

Your experience of the iPad bears no resemblance to my use of a 64GB over the last week. I love it, and you will see what other equipment I have if you look at my signature.

I already had pre-ordered them.... One for me and one for my father.

Do people think a BIN price of £550 on eBay is okay. I have one watcher but I would prefer to sell it soon as so I have the money easily available for the UK preorder in may.

Hell, mine is still synching up all the crazy stuff I'm loading on it and I'm in love!

Sad I know, I've never been an :apple: fanboy - but at this moment I certainly am :D

Someone's already got a letter from ACS:Law about "Copyright Infringement". I've actually advised that they contact the ombudsman - the letter is bullying. Let's make it stop. Full stop.

I don't think that is a realistic buy it now price, I was looking for around the original price I paid for it, its in amazing condition and cost me just over 580 quid. Yeah it is only the 16gb model, but it is in the UK, and ready for pickup whenever for the winning bidder.

Sorry I was joking and no way was it a serious offer. For one thing I am not looking for a 16GB, I hope I can get a 32GB 3G when they are finally here.

I think you should get a good price for it. If you don't get any takers in here you may find eBay worth a shot. Any that are already in the UK seem to be going for very high prices still. I would act fast though if I was you as the nearer the 10th the harder it might be to sell at the right price.

so, got the good news yesterday that my work colleague's friend has picked up my iPad in NYC and should be with me when she gets back on thursday! cost me £510 in the end for 64GB version!!

Have been shopping for accessories today and for anyone who's been shopping for a case, ive just purchased the new booq Boa skin XS - black which should hopefully be with me by thurs too! looks like a great slim sleeve case!

Just wondered if anyone has looked into iPad insurance. Worth taking out do you think?

lol, yeah that is one of the reasons why I have decided to sell now, I'm going to buy another regardless, as I love it. But I have now decided that a constant internet connection is what I want, and it would be even better on the iPad, than my iPhone.

I have decided to put mine on ebay, what should I put the BIN on for. I am in the UK, Wakefield so I think that should increase the value a bit.

:D NintendoLinks - being in Wakefield probably devalues it a bit (I should know I grew up there)

Get a good price and then spend the cash on doing the Westgate Run (if it still exists) quite a few pubs/bars in less than a mile. :D

Now enjoying the sunnier climate of down south.

Hey guys, just letting you know that I bought an iPad from the US store and just got shipping confirmation - It's being sent to a friend's house but my billing address is in the UK. I guess they only check the first line as I didn't put my postcode in, just entered the same zip code as the shipping address!

Here's the story of my journey...

1) read nearly every single bloody posting in this thread (got to page 105, when the fedex tracker said it's in my town)
2) won ebay iPad 64GB wifi model on 14th April
3) volcano ash nearly lead to the end of the world, ok then, maybe not
4) checked, and checked, and refreshed the fedex page for the past 14 days and nights - made a half a dozen phonecalls to fedex for good measure!
5) finally, today is the day, dear lord, (i'm not even religious)...
6) it's on it's way T O D A Y

No idea how to insert an image, so copied to here instead: (cloudapp).

I will keep this thread updated with my expected experience today.

Now then, shall I go to sleep now, and then wake up refreshed later for the little play I will be having, or shall I not sleep at all, in case I oversleep and miss the fedex man/woman?

...runs off and sings: i'm so happy, happy, happy :D:D:D

I bought mine and had it shipped to bundlebox. It arrived with them last night but I think it was booked in just a little late for it to ship last night, so hopefully it'll ship later today.

The current expectation is that it should be in my hands by Friday.

it's cost $634 for the 32Gb Pad and 147.93ukp to ship from bundle box with insurance and 2-3 day delivery.

Total cost comes in at: 558.18ukp which includes shipping and the VAT etc so it should pass straight through customs (I Hope).

07:25am - it's arrived !!!!...

Can't believe I was about to phone the fedex depot, and see if I could pick it up, and the door bell rang!!

It's finally here, it looks so awesome, and so not a giant itouch.

I've activated it, and i'm synching just basic stuff so that I can play.

Anyway, i'm off to play :)

Back later might give you more feedback from my perspective if any of you want it.

.../sings in a girly voice: happy, happy, happy, and so happy.... :D

jealousy! glol, do you realise how pathetic you sound?

No more pathetic than you guys that are bitching at people for importing. It's their money. Who the hell are you to deride their decision?

And you think I sound pathetic??

Hi, let me introduce you to reality.

Okay so the latest from the Parcelfarce tracker..

25-04-2010 21:00 International Hub AWAITING CUSTOMS CHARGING

23-04-2010 09:26 Delivery Agent - SAN FRANCISCO Arrived at Outward OE
22-04-2010 11:53 Delivery Agent - UNITED STATES AMERICA Collected from customer

PF agent said it may/may not have customs charges applied to it but won't know for sure till later.

How would I go about getting paying these should it come to that? I'm of on holiday next week (Thursday) so not going to wait for their letter to turn up!

Thanks,

I'm worried that the iPad pricing here in Denmark will be horrible. I've tried to figure out the US -> DK pricing to see if there's a general convertion ratio, and it seems that we generally pay from 70% to almost 80% more for Apple products in Denmark than US

At that rate the 16GB wifi model will cost around DKKR 4,700 or roughly US$ 850!

I hope to be proven otherwise, but it seems I need to do some serious saving. :)

God that is painful - I hope not!

I would love to have a constant Internet connection from my commute in and around Greater Manchester (mostly), however 3G isn't always consistent for me which is why I went for the WiFi only as I tend to carry my iPhone around for anything important requiring net access.

I may have to get one of those MiFi things!

£89 Customs charge on my 16GB . Sure that must be a mistake... Only cost £420 and no duty.

Thinking I might end up selling it ... After all this hastle lolool. Cost has gradually gone higher then expected and thinking 16GB might not be enough for me D:.

I was just desperate to have it for my trip on May 28th and am sure release will be on 28th+

I just wish we knew the prices now, makes decision so hard.

I will see how I feel when I pick it up after work.
