I just got off the phone to Parcelfarce, been charged customs... wait for it... £41!! Which means my iPad has cost me £421 delivered, not bad
Did they let you pay over the phone or have you been told to wait for the letter?

Spoke to some customs woman at PF, very nice lady she said you don't need to wait for a letter as with the bank holiday it may take a while before they get sent out. Just keep an eye on the tracker as to which depot its going to and pay over the phone.
Called Manchester and the chap said it's not there just yet but to call in the morning to pay for delivery on Thursday!![]()
Excellent, just waiting on mine to land at my local depot, last update was.

I'm just getting very impatient now it's so closeSo you're to ring the actual depot to pay rather than the main PF number?
Update: My iPad is still in customs but I managed (after 100 redial attempts, I kid you not) to get through and spoke to a helpful lady that said my (USPS Express) parcel was with UPS. Yes, UPS (not USPS).
The reasoning is that because my parcel is coming via USPS Express, ParcelForce handed it over to UPS to clear customs as they apparantly do with all Express parcels. However UPS have a huge backlog and ParcelForce don't. The irony being that if I ordered using "Priority" delivery instead of Express it would probably have cleared customs within a day or two instead of five and counting..
I spoke to a helpful guy at UPS Customs who gave me their fax number: (02476 213308) and I faxed ahead the original purchase and shipping receipts so hopefully this will mean I won't have to reply to a postal letter from them. We'll see.
Dude you are having such nightmare with your delivery! I hope it's all worth it in the end for you mate. Hang in there, you will forget all of these problems once you get it in your hands and start enjoying it's awesomeness.....that sounded so very wrong. Lol
mine is also part of this horrific backlog...

I can't wait to <insert doublé-entendra here> to the iPad
As long as it arrives in good condition and hopefully before the end of the week I'll be happy. Fortunately I'm not expecting any such nightmareish delivery for the iPhone 4G - here's hoping it's as easy as last year's camp out at the O2 store!
That's not a backlog - yours is going to schedule and the next thing you should see is "Arrived at National Hub", "At Local Depot", and then "Out for Delivery". If you're on 24hr/Express it may even arrive at your local depot (possibly with charges) for tomorrow".
Are you sure? I thought it meant it was waiting in this queue. Sorry if your right, I didn't mean to rub it in lol (although I would be very happy!)

I still think they are lieing to you. Mine and the other 2 people to get recently were also USPS Express and we got straight through and with Parcelforce.
Unless USPS is helping Parcelforce and some of their mail is being delegated to them then it makes no sense at all.
So I am a little unclear of how the whole process goes. Could someone sum it up in steps please?
Do I just order form Apple, getting ti sent to my BundleBox. Then in my BB account I need to tell them to send it to me? Or is it all automatic?
I cracked after holding out so far. I've ordered a 32Gb 3G iPad from http://intlo.com/en/shop-ipad. I'd appreciate any new reports from purchasers from this site. I called them and had a long chat with 'Tim' before placing my order. There are some odd charges included (which is how I presume they make their money) and the total I'm paying is £747 which includes 48 hour shipping with Fedex.
They claim they will be shipping on the 1st of May (as Apple have notified them that their 3G shipment will not be delivered before 5pm on 30th April).
Anyone else ordered from intlo.com?
My girlfriend is off to New York in June, at least if the UK pricing is extortionate I can wait an extra month and get her to bring one back.
But, it seems the longer I wait, the less I actually want one
WARNING
I just got a call from my credit card company to say that they believe my card was used fraudulently over the weekend. The amount is the same as my INTLO purchase but the payment was made to private account and not a company account. They have reversed the transaction and recommended that I should cancel my card. It's rather suspicious that someone at INTLO would try and charge my card around a week before they receive shipments of 3G model themselves.
er you obviously have no experience making big online purchases online?
All retailers put a hold on the money to make sure you are good for it first. Even apple themselves. And every bank out there will flag any charge over a few hundred pounds as potential fraud and ring you.
My bank rang me with the fraud call for my purchase from the Apple store themselves who HELD 600 of my money over 12 days before it was due to ship.
Everything that happened to you was perfectly normal so stop screaming fraud to people.
They don’t normally put the money in to a private account though
