I have a MiFi, it's great.. I have my laptop and iphone paired with it. I also unlocked it so I can put any SIM I like in. So when I travel abroad I just buy a PAYG SIM at the airport and stuff it in. No more roaming data charges on my iphone for me!!!

That's a great idea, I'm off on my hols next week (Singapore, KL, and Dubai - Can't wait!!) - I can just buy a pay and go sim over there and pop it into the MiFi. How did you get yours unlocked?

That is the right price. They add the shipping cost onto the price of the iPad and then add the vat! Giving a landed value. That is from the invoice from UPS.

Me too, excellent piece of kit. Works flawlessly with the iPad Wi-Fi.

How expensive is data on foreign PAYG sims? Which have you tried?

I used http://dcunlocker.com

The software only runs under windows, tho I did have it running under Fusion.

You then have to pay 15Euros to unlock it.

PF agent said it may/may not have customs charges applied to it but won't know for sure till later.

How would I go about getting paying these should it come to that? I'm of on holiday next week (Thursday) so not going to wait for their letter to turn up!

I'm in the same situation, I rang them just now to enquire about paying my charges and the guy I spoke to said I have to wait for the letter than has the reference code on it, they will not take a payment without it :(

Give it awhile and call them back.

The first guy I spoke to said the same thing. I called back and spoke to somebody else and the just took the parcel reference and took the payment.

Was delivered the next day.

What number did you call?

I was told the package hasn't been released, no charges have been applied which they should have by now I would have thought.

He said I have to wait till it arrives at the main depot :confused:

I'll try again later, my parcel hasn't arrived actually at the local depot yet, it's on its way there now.

You can not pay untill it arrives at your 'local' depot . It will leave customs and go to international hub then your local depot then you can ring without a letter.

Got mine from. Maximuscards.com

I got the $50 card to save on the premium they charge

Also, some apps are cheaper getting them from the US store, and remember to use a sales tax free state, eg: oregan or new Hampshire etc.... As your iTunes account address

I made the mistake of using my friend's Illinois address. Can I simply change my address to, say, a New Hampshire one with impunity?

Yes, it's dead easy, go to something like the account settings/options page in itunes, and change our address. Find anything on google, eg hotel or your favourite apple store! Make sure you get the 5 digit zip code right, otherwise you'll have a few quirks.

And this will not affect you in any way whatsoever apart from having to change stores everytime you sync, if there are APP updates available, and you want them.
 
I just got off the phone to Parcelfarce, been charged customs... wait for it... £41!! Which means my iPad has cost me £421 delivered, not bad
