Correct. My iPad for send on Friday and it cost £130 for their International Priority service. However, it is still estimated for delivery tomorrow according to their tracking service.

£130!? Wow that is insane. Here's a photo of the receipt showing $40.03 - maybe it cost cheaper because it's from a FedEx account?

hi boblister and others..
i stayed away for a few days, it was becoming quite an obsession reading this post..

i am still holding out for a a 3g version release in the uk.
had a very long discussion with the would be recipient ( my son) about whether he wanted to order it on the computer and wait for the man to deliver, or queue outside in the dark with his mum and a picnic.

so we will be at liverpool one on release day. anyone else?
tempted by the warmth of the trafford centre though specially with my son in tow,
i have read most of the posts i missed but not all of them hows everyone holding up?

Hiya and welcome back. What a shame your at Liverpool, I will be going to the Trafford centre, possibly with my son. Though he isn't as keen to come now as he has got himself a 32GB iPad. I am typing this on a 16GB iPad while sampling some beers at the local beer festival. This will be my wives iPad when I get my 3G one. Very pleased with it so far. This one came from Las Vegas via nice chap returning from holiday and my sons from New York via someone who commutes back and forth a lot.

I have only heard good things about the 3G one so far.

It's fantastic. Really, really great browsing experience. It is not slow or choppy at all, though there is occasional checker-boarding on very heavy pages while it is still loading. A very smooth experience though, with very quick rendering. Tabs could do with some work (in my opinion should be a permanent replacement for the bookmarks bar), but aside from that there are no problems. Hopefully in the next version they sort out the long-term issue with bold lines sometimes happening under hyperlinks for no apparent reason (has been there since OS 1.x). :)

Hey thanks for the reply. Its so frustrating not being able to have access to one yet. Seems like ages ago when they were announced.

Would you adam it - this morning I buy a 3g sim for my jailbroken 1st gen iphone to use mywi so I don't have to consider the 3g ipad (only need 3g access for a small amount of time, but regularly), and a couple of hours a go I find Spirit for the 3gs is out and easy as pie. Just done the deed and installed mywi - wow, that was super easy, even I could do it.
S'pose the sim might come in handy one day. lol.

Ok world - now I know I only need a wifi iPad, which means I can have the biggest capacity one I can get with the money I have. Game on !!

Bob. Might go to the trafford cente still
need to do some research about which entrance andwhere exactly the apple store is. ?

I waited for the 3gs in the rain maybe with a 6 year old I should be kind a drive a bit further !!

I can't believe you have one on your hands. Not fair :(

I am really expecting it to sell out super fast here.
We will be easy to spot at the trafford centre. I'm the one with the 6 year old jumping around like crazy for his very late birthday present.

I've had my pad for less than a week now and I'm really loving it.

The main problem i have with it is.... Putting it down. I just want to d everything on it. Even typing on it is ok. I too have Bluetooth apple keyboard paired with it but find myself just using the virtual one!!

For those still waiting. I'm really sorry and wish apple had sorted this out but once you get iot you'll love it I'm sure.

Drive in the main entrance, use the UPPER car park. Go in the nearest entrance from there (past Selfridges) go down a long corridor into the TC itself, turn left and it's on your left hand side- can't miss it :)

UK Price Going To Be High:- Hung Parliament

Hello

I understand from an Apple insider the reason for the 10th May release date is to wait until after the election. Apple expect the £ to fail to $1 to £1 if we have a hung parliament. Apple have this one off chance to set the product price and
did not want to dip out.

Regards :apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

I eill be able to tell you exactly where to park and where the entrance is. I can even bring an iPad with me for you to play with while in the queue :)

To hold up the release of a product for all of Europe over a UK election and a vague expectation of a change in rate would seem rather desperate.

Thats the narrow minded Americans for you.... :)

They do not want the share just rule...!!!!

Yeah... Is that all the thanks we get for helping rule their country for them and then give it back to them!!!!! Gee what do they want from us!!!

Right now the main thing I am concerned with is the UK price.

i am fairly settled on a 32gig wifi only version and hope the price is about the £500 mark. Lets hope the '10th of May' pre-order and 'End of May' release hold. Will not be impressed with another delay.

I have gone off the idea of a 3g one as I wont be using the device in that way. Mainly going to use this at home.

I want to pre-order and then go the Apple store and pick it up nice and early. I'm going to be at the Highcross store in Leicester. Can't wait!

I'll be picking up from Leicester early on day of release !!! Here's hoping we can reserve online for store pickup

It's not a vague expectation. If the Tories don't win (I'm not expecting them to - but it's what the markets are expecting) then there will be a market 'correction' as the financial markets have been gearing themselves up for a Tory/Conservative win in a few days time.

Given that Apple have already delayed the iPad's international release (grrr) they now find that their next release is backed up against the most important UK General Election in many decades.

It seems reasonable to me, if I were in Apple's position, to wait for the results of the election before announcing pricing. I don't like it any more than you do, but it is the right business thing to do in this situation.

It really does make business sense to wait.

A hung parlement however could be bad news.

Christ I really hope that's the case, I get a horrible feeling it'll be everyone for themselves though and a big scramble! :( I'll be heading to Regent's St.

The first gen iPhone doesn't have 3G though...

Every time I have done this it's bee an orderly queue

I was thinking more of my local haunt which is a shopping centre. The hordes of folk going from the centre entrance to the store will be a sight to behold! Hence me just going to Regent St.
