Just ordered. And I can confirm for those that wondered. They do take it out of your account straight away. I used a VISA debit card, logged into the bank, and the moneys already gone.
I also used Visa Debit, just logged onto my account and they haven't taken payment yet.. but I did notice that I really should start saving some money

I certainly have. Luckily went for the O2 sim, which seems to be the better value right now.
Interesting that none of them could be persuaded to offer an unlimited model like AT&T.

Never mind found it on Apple site, seems O2 and Voda are updating their sites at the moment.
No email for me yet. Like the poster above said, you can click on order status by logging in, and print off from there.

Went to bed early last night as didn't feel too good but have woke up because I went to sleep so early so just checked Macrumors on my iPhone and saw that link. Really pleased. The money has gone straight out of my account. I haven't got a confirmation email yet but pleased I got it. iPad 16GB and iPad case.

The confirmation has arrive to mine and that was 20 mins or so ago i ordered.
cases say shipped by may 28th and the ipad says deliver by may 28th. It says it wont ship items untill all are available in the small print. This confuses me. More reason I will phone apple and ask about pick up at store.
That's my plan too. I don't really want to be waiting for the case which looks like it will arrive on the 1st June. If it's going to take that long I might see if I can pick one up from the nearby Apple Reseller. Otherwise I'll just be patient -- after all, I already have the iPad itself

Ordered my iPad around half hour ago and just got the confirmation email. The iPad is getting closer, i can smell it.
16GB model ordered for my dear mother. Threw in 3G for the occasions when I decide to "borrow" it. No accessories as I'm waiting to see what case/dock options spring up between now and delivery date...
