I don't like the "Shipping by May 28th" bit. Isn't it supposed to be delivered by May 28th?
My confirmation email from Apple states 'We estimate your order to be shipped Delivers by May 28th.'
So looks fine...

Placed my order nearly three hours ago now and still haven't received an email confirmation, although if I log in to my account online and check, there it is. I'm not worried!
Also no announcement email, despite being signed up on three different addresses for the iPad news alert. I would assume there are a lot of people who have no idea pre-orders are available.
Edit: Oh, and my order says "Delivers by May 28th". Just two iPads, no case or accessories.

I hope it's delivery by May 28th! If its shipped by May 28th I will have to wait for mine until September. I won't be in the UK to collect it till then as I leave June 3rd. I will probably check later towards the date about in store delivery that way then.
My order says ships by as well - if you scrutinise the site the iPads themselves are deliver by 28th and the accessories are ships by 28th.
Maybe if you order accessories you get a ship by 28th and just the iPad deliver by 28th on the order.
Hopefully all of it means deliver by 28th, although maybe this is a sneaky trick to help Apple with the volume of orders, anyone with accessories will get them a couple of days later?

No I didn't, just to avoid any delay...
I want one and the camera kit, but I will get them later at the local Apple reseller.
How does one get in touch with Apple on Live Chat? I can't see it anywhere. I went to order an iPad 3G alone and while my bank refused the card on the basis of fraud prevention the pre-payment page was suggesting shipping for that by the 28th as well.

You can do live chat by clicking the word chat next to a speech bubble in the box top left that says APPLE STORE and the phone number.
Ordered, not confirmation yet but Apple Orders seems fine.

Live chat does work, click into something like 'iPad accessories', then wait a few seconds, the word 'chat' will appear where I said. I used it less than an hour ago. Don't panic about the delivery date, I was first to order and mine says the same thing. It will say delivers by 28th in the confirmation email.
I'm in the UK too, not sure why you arent seeing the chat thing, it actually looks a bit out of place when it appears, note its not there right away, it kinda appears after a few seconds in that blue box, top left of the screen with the words apple store and the phone number in it.
I've just had a Live Chat with some dude called David. I had to go through the order process as far as having an iPad in my basket and proceeding to Checkout.
Not been in here for a while (no i haven't just come to gloat at spurs losing to burnley ), but good luck to all you guys in your preorders. My only suggestion would be to get the case, or another case with similar functionality, the different wedge shapes really help make it more comfortable to use IMO. also its easier to pop in your backpack/manbag without worrying about the screen.
had mine for a few weeks now - survived its first road trip this weekend! - and i still cant put it down, despite its well known faults. you will love it. and grats for waiting

I ordered same time as you. I haven't got a confirmation email either. Not worried though the order page confirms it, plus I printed it out. And they have taken my money all ready.
