Q: Given the huge demand of iPad demand in the US, will that impact the international launch?
A: No. It’ll still be near the end of April, like we said.

Good. :D

Well that's something...

Go to live steves entusiasm

Q: Is there going to be any change in Apple’s position on Java or Flash on version four?
A: No.

In that case, I think tomorrow is our last 'big hope' of a preorder announcement -this would give up to 3 weeks before an end of April release date (April 30?), all based on the assumption that we are working on 'Friday time' like with a lot of releases (I know US was Saturday, but can't see that working in UK/Internationally).

I don't know about the uk, but back over in your former dumping ground (Australia) there has been lots of talk we wont even know pricing till the date its released as in one of the press releases it had;

iPad Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available in Australia in late April. Pricing will be announced at the time of availability.

Now I have to figure out the procedure for getting a 3GS from o2, preferably keeping my existing number... or wait for the next version at WWDC ??? Hmmm...

Something tells me that Apple haven't even finalised the prices for European markets yet. I'm not even sure they have a date for release. They certainly have warehouses full of packaged iPads ready to go, but there are obviously some issues we don't know about.

On the one hand, I'm extremely pleased about the OS4 upgrade. This is absolutely amazing news throughout (bar iAd, but it may turn out ok). But on the other hand, the lack of news about the iPad in the UK is quite worrying.

Near the end of April. Early May is 'near' the end of April. Why are you being so vague.. Aghhhhhh :D:D:D

That does kind of make sense here also - the US$ to £ rate has fluctuated widely recently and I guess they don't want to find themselves disadvantaged.

I agree totally with every single word you just said, couldn't have said it better.

gdgt had: Q: Will iPad’s success impact its international launch?

Steve: No, we said we’re launching internationally later in April, and we’re launching later in April.

- that sounds like its defiantly in April.

Phil Schiller says he's surprised how fast people are "getting" the iPad. Steve says any competitor will hope they get 3.5K apps in the first year. Apple got them first week.

I love the cool arrogance of the Apple executives. :D
