gdgt had: Q: Will iPad’s success impact its international launch?

Steve: No, we said we’re launching internationally later in April, and we’re launching later in April.

- that sounds like its defiantly in April.

That does sound more definite. But if they are so definite, why no date or pricing. It's just so annoying.

Ebay seller rejected my best offer, now considering two things. Pay more & get it now, or by chance I have friends going to the UK on 29th April for the week.. Do I just get them to pick me one up over there ? (assuming they are out by then)... Damn my impatience. I'm driving myself mad here :confused::):(:D

Please define smart alex ?

So you know for definite that they are releasing them in Ireland ?

So you know for sure that despite having no pre-orders (seemingly) and the fact we have NO Apple Store outlets in the country bar few small resellers mostly in Dublin (over 4 hours away on the other side of the Country) that it's going to be so 'easy' to buy properly ?

Yeah thanks for your input ;)

It's Apple making it difficult to buy, not me.

Use a Mail forwarder from the US to order it from Apple US and do it that way, would be cheaper than eBay no?

Had considered this when I learned about Bundlebox etc.. but some are no longer doing it for the moment.

Also going on what some people have posted about BundleBox's pricing it's much of a muchness. I've seen cheaper on Ebay than the price they charge (of course your still gambling on getting caught for duty).

I've seen €700 for 64GB shipped on Ebay (I best offered €650).

BB would be more however they have duty paid included in the cost.

In the UK I heard that Micro Anvika are getting it almost before Apple (cue flame), or atleast without the que in Regent St!

As for Ireland there is still Compu B in Cork now that 3G are closed.

Dude even if you live on the southern coast of Cork you're still just a few hours by train to somewhere in NI with an Apple Store. Just take a trip!

EDIT: But yeah if you live on the Aran islands... eBay it xD

I wouldn't trust the railway between Belfast and Dublin. Quite a lot of Republican activity on both sides of the border recently. It seems every few days I hear of huge delays on that line as a 'suspicious object' has been found. Only a couple of weeks ago, shots were fired at police in Newry who were looking for objects on the railway. Scum.

Fallen to eBay temptation

You know, there is the third option of buy it properly

I confess. I've just bought an iPad 'improperly' from eBay-convinced myself it's cheaper than the 3G would be anyway.

Just hope I get it soon & not the legendary iPad box of sand!
Mind you when I bought some fake Gillette blades from eBay I finished in profit thanks to vouchers from them & Proctor & Gamble-just suffered a couple of painful shaves!

Good luck whether with eBay or the announcement-then I'll know the full cost of being impatient...

Dude have you seen the prices of iarnrod eireann lately ?

LOL.. It'd take at least 4 hours and 1 or two changes by Train to Dublin, then couple more hours from Dublin up-to NI.

Lose a day's work. It would realistically prob mean stopping over night either in North or Dublin so your adding Hotel costs. Then your talking about more € eating out in a resturant.

Its all adding up €€€€€€ and making Ebay look cheaper ;);););) There is a recession on you know :D:p

Seriously that way it would cost me €200 easily on all the factors.

Really? That's terrible :(

Jeez ok maybe you do live on the south coast of Cork xD

Perhaps we should turn Limerick into a US enclave and use it a giant shopping mall?

Bundlebox may not be the cheapest option but their service is superb and you WILL get your iPad, can you be so certain about eBay?

LOL. Limerick has enough problems don't you think ? Mind you the Americans would have no trouble buying guns :D

That's the risk of eBay, but at least you have Paypal & Credit card protection.

Guys, here's Ars Technica live blog confirming the gdgt "April" international date:

Jacqui Cheng:
missed a question about international iPad launch, but Steve says it's still end of April

we can of course verify through the official video stream. Jobs has confirmed its April, there are less than 20 "good dates" to release it, let's just all sit tight, we aren't that far away after all!

Less than 20 dates = less than 20 days till we see it here?
