My guess is Tuesday... But it's only a guess!!

With big speculation on the mbp's being announced, the lazy web developers might be trying to kill two birds with one stone by only updating the Apple site once.

Some guy on another thread the US were the only country that you could preorder the ipad if so that sucks big time !!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
 
Been reading this thread for ages now, and finally thought it was time I registered so I could suffer with you lot! :)

Please please please let there be preorders for this, because I really can't face lining up for hours or a stampede through a shopping centre...

I really think that there will be preorders due to the geographical nature / number of Apple Stores in the UK. Not everybody lives near an Apple Store.
 
I braved the queues a few months ago for COD MW, and that got pretty ugly for an ASDA!

I think this is the most desperate I've been to get my hands on something! Not desperate enough to go down the import route though. But some news would really help the wait...
 
If we don't here anything this week then i expect there is little chance of preorders. I am very disappointed that Apple have not been consistent in how they treat other customers compared with US.

US get to know the price months in advance, they have a 1 week shift in the wifi only release and they get 3 week to preorder.

The rest have to put up with no confirmed price, release date or if we get to preorder. All we get is an 'End of April' and tbh I don't think that is likely now. We were pushed back 1 month since the original announcement so I doubt they will think much of pushing it back further.

This wait has turned me into a raving lunatic. I have never been this wound up over a product launch. I think it is the not knowing that gets to me.
 
I don't know why I'm so impatient for the iPad...

I had to wait 6 months (yes, that's right, 6 MONTHS in this day and age) for Rock Band to come out in Britain!

It's becuase Apple loves us and they give us all sorts of good things such as "The Apple Tax" and "suspense via waiting for information (SWI)".
 
I was about to kick up a stink about Apple now adding the OS 4 page to the UK site and STILL not updating the iPad pages... but I just noticed they have actually added a single page. They've given us the Apps page with demo videos of Real Racing and Wall Street Journal etc. Still no Guided Tours, no release date and no pricing. But wow, they've finally updated something iPad-related on the UK site.

Yes they do give us good things. Things that people say we do not need but then t turns out we do.

You have to love "The Apple Tax". We all know its coming but how much is it? who can tell.

"SWI". A new acronym for me. I work in a minefield of three letter acronyms (TLA) and this is something I do not enjoy.

It must be a fine line judging how much suspense you can generate before it becomes counter productive. Wonder who gets to decide this as they are pushing it.

LOL, SWI is made up, by me of course - on the spot.

It's a whole team deciding this. The team is probably segregated like the software and hardware development teams. Now they do give us good stuff, they just haven't delivered on this on this occasion.
 
Im so glad i'm back to work, because when I was off all i'd do is sit on here following the conversation and refreshing every gadget news site i could find.

I know people are saying it will happen tuesday but before that we were saying he'll say something at the OS4 launch, why would they announce it now? they are concentrating on other products again. I know its a pessimistic view but at the moment i can't see us getting much of a warning before it is out.

The other part of me can't wait for Tuesday and to see if there is actually going to be the long awaited press release. I just want prices. I don't mind waiting that little bit longer, i just need to know how much im gonna spend or even how much more im going to need to save. The price is going to have a major say on whether i'll be getting 3G or Wifi!

I make up acronyms at work. People think they have always existed.

I think Apple have made a good product here. Its not perfect but then no product can ever be. Its the delivery of information that they are getting wrong imo.

The group should really just give us the day that they will announce this information on. I've signed up for the notification e-mail but with so little time left in the month it seems pointless.

Hmm. I assume you've studied mathematics at some sort of advanced level. If so, you did statistics? (I am doing mechanics 4, but current dividing by matricies in Pure maths) :(

Now... given that I've sold my iPad for over 100% of what I got it for... I am back to square one waiting for the IPad.
 
When the store goes down for these new MacBooks I'm going to be quite disappointed (distraught) if it doesn't come back up with iPad pre-ordering too.

Good to see they've added the 'Apps for iPad' section on the UK site. Closer....closer....
