i really dont understand why no news, something is going on, perhaps there is a manufacturing delay after all as there is no reason to hold back unless something is up

The convent beckons. For gawds sake.

They're cutting it damn fine for a late April release. To use a motor racing analogy, they're going to have to be the last of the late brakers if they plan to make the corner, I'll give them that.

Exactly, who wants a "Laptop", they are so old hat, like buying a DVD player instead of a BluRay. :p

The Macbook updates should have been 'after' the ipad in the UK, this is just being ridiculous...surely they realise they are seriously annoying all their other markets instead of US!!!?

It's literally about 2 and a bit weeks away..USA were able to preorder by now, this is just silly.

So what if they were able to pre-order it. Seriously, the world isn't going to even stumble let alone end if we have to go to a shop and take our chances. All this fuss over something you are guaranteed to have in your hand this time next month.

:(

I was hoping to be able to get one in my hands before I go back to France (university studies) at the end of April. That's looking less and less likely by the day.

Now where's that eBay bookmark?!

on my calender it says 13th april...so 17 days left in april yeah?

even if they release it on 30th april, which is 17 days away, how are they cutting it fine exactly?

they dont have to pre-order...

Eh?

How can they be cutting it fine? They said Late April. It's not Late April yet. And Late April lasts a long time, arguably at least a week.

GET. OVER. IT. PEOPLE.

It's interesting to see that Apple have taken this opportunity to up the pricing of the Macbooks in the UK.

Prices are the same in the US but the UK are now £999 (was 918) for the 13 inch and £1499 (was £1328) for the base 15 inch.

Those exchange rates are now 1.20 and 1.13 respectively. So I think the cheapest we'll see a 16GB iPad is £415... unless they take a hit to keep the price low.

And what if they delay it by a few months to fix the bugs everyone is complaining about. Then we arent guarenteed to have it by then. Plus we all want one now. The whole world is waiting for what america have.

Please keep your sensible comments to other threads....I'm sick of people being reasonable and logical round here....these replies have been reported to mods :p

Just to be clear - what BS? They said Late April, and it's not even Mid-April yet.

Well, "to be clear" -by "BS" I meant this entire drama of hanging on for word of an ACTUAL release date and price. It is just over two weeks until the "end of April". I didn't expect to be able to buy the thing by now, just have some idea how much money Apple expect me to hand over, as well as where and when they expect me to do it. Are they selling online? Are they taking preorders? Are they taking reservations for instore collection? Are they being released instore only? Do we have to show up in a black turtleneck and stomewashed jeans? Who the hell knows?
I don't know about you, but if I need time off work to drive 100 miles each way to my nearest Apple Store on April xx, then I need to book it in advance.
