It’s also vdry notiable in landscape when scrolling between home screens. Look at the widgets or app icons as you scroll horizontally through the pages- they literally wobble!
This is sounding like a QA/QC issue from either the display and/or display refresh component manufacturers.

Either Apple has really cheaped put on this display, or it’s something they can address in software.
Unsure if possible but maybe Apple can have the right half lag a nano-second compared to the left when in portrait mode and make the adjustment for orientation as required.

I'm not having the issue (or not seeing it) but has anyone tried to see if they have this issue with both dark mode and light?

I remember the "jelly scroll" happening on another Apple product. i wonder how that one was resolved.

Originally known as screen tearing. Who came up with jelly? 😆

I was actually on my way to buy one, but decided to look closer in the store after seeing this thread.

Holy ****, it was super-super noticeable. I have a slight wobble on my ipad 9.7 as well but nothing too bad. I tried the air also which also exhibited the same thing but nothing close too as bad as the mini.

It’s a no-go at the moment for me unfortunately.

After REALLY looking for it I'm able to maybe slightly see it. Is this what everyone is complaining about? Or is your guys significantly worse than this? It really doesn't seem like a dealbreaker at all to me. I'd encourage everyone to take videos of their own so we can compare

just checked a couple of websites along with a couple of the tests that have been posted on here and I’m not seeing this on my iPad mini 6.

I don't think you have it, unless the camera isn't synched with it.

I am unable to see it in the video you provided, I see it on text heavy pdf and it’s a very slight “jelly effect” on mine but then again scrolling that fast does not seem like normal use. It’s noticeable a bit in the photo library but certainly not a deal breaker.

It must be a Q&A issue because I cannot replicate the problem, and the scroll seems smoother on the 6 vs 5. Light/dark and portrait/landscape are all consistent.

It’s kind of amazing how people can talk themselves into something like this being “OK”

Apple charges top prices and in fact increased the prices this time around….
How anyone defends them cheaping out on components or implementation is beyond me

It doesn't appear to be happening to everyone.

...because personal preferences are just that.... personal.

For some, the jelly scroll effect is a deal-breaker. For me, lack of a headphone jack and increased $100 price, and a few other deficiencies are a deal-breaker for me. Those are non-issues for everyone else.
