The Apple Store's are getting new stock every day. I've been checking the Apple website pretty frequently just out of curiosity, and several configurations / colors are available tomorrow in my closest store. Seems that it is fairly low risk to just monitor the restocking, if you have a store close by, and grab one quickly once they show it as available. Much better than waiting a month for it to be shipped.

I'm not buying one (yet) but the temptation persists.

I wish that were the case in the Chicago area stores. Went ahead and ordered a 256GB Space Gray Wi-Fi + Cellular, delivery 10/19 to 10/26.

I tend to agree (although I don't have a mini so I can't say I've experienced this myself).

I expect this will be fixed with the next update to iOS 15, which will likely be out by the time you get your mini.
Don't count on it, it's a hardware "issue" with the direction the LCD panel refreshes (top to bottom on mini 6, left to right on Air and other iPads)

Surprise
I have now cancelled my order (Purple 64GB) with Costco. Partly because it wasn’t going to arrive in time to take on the travel I have coming up (and don’t want it delivered while I’m gone) and partly to see what if anything more shakes out about the Jelly Scroll issue.

I missed the order at launch completely, asleep at the wheel. Online orders of 256gb space grey cellular are so pushed out (in the UK anyway) I just kept an eye out for pick-up. Sure enough, I bagged one on Wednesday via pickup :)

My local Apple store finally had a 256GB Space Grey with Wi-Fi & Cellular in stock last Thursday. Placed an order for in-store pickup and picked it up an hour before my window.

Cancelled my online order with October 26th delivery this morning after making sure the one I picked up was okay. I really love the form factor.

Well done! Went through same procedure for same model a week or two ago, beats waiting :)

It’s a really excellent device and a great complement to my bigger iPad Pro. I use it completely differently.

Has anyone seen any movement if they were given delivery of October 18th - 25th? The 18th is a week away. I know that places like Best Buy have the Mini iPad purple I ordered in stock but I am trading in my husbands Mini iPad and giving him mine so I need to transfer my iPad to my new one, then wipe that clean and transfer husbands to my old mini then wipe the old one to trade which is why I wanted the time to have Apple to send me the trade in box and not just go buy a new one. I would have thought with numerous places all having these now in stock that those that were given later dates they would have moved them up.

Ordered a mini 6 (Pink, 256 GB) and the shipping/delivery estimate hasn't changed yet -- still Oct 14 - 21.

My Sept 30th order of a gray 256gb cellular still says processing. I check the apple site now and then, I did see one pop up but it was a 200+ mi rountrip and I’m in no hurry (other than the burning yet senseless desire for new electronics lol). I’ve seen a few pink and purple ones pop up though

I just did an 80 mile round trip to pick up just a Dark Cherry Smart Folio. :p

you are committed! what's odd is that I see that folio as 'delivers tomorrow' on the ipad mini buy page that i refresh now and then

Not near me. I haven’t seen anything less than 4-6 weeks on the Dark Cherry color in weeks.

When does apple update the in store stock? Is it random or do they do it before the actual store opens? I've been toying with the idea of mini.

Apple randomly updates their stock for in store pick up at anytime. I was finally able to get my iPad mini for in store pick up after a week of refreshing the app at least 10 times a day. Add the mini configuration that u want in your shopping bag and then keep checking the in store pick up/delivery availability.

There's no absolute rule. My config reappeared mid afternoon after being out of stock, while some base models appeared one morning, sold out that day and haven't been available since.

All configurations that show at the Apple store are random, but all the local stores get a few in at different delivery times during business hours during the week. Necessitating rechecking local pickup during the day a few times. Hour after store opened, around lunch, early afternoon are best times to check. Some times you see late day arrivals say ready the following day.

This is the same process as any apple online purchase. Setup to buy a product, configure its color, memory, wifi or cell, engraving or not for the iPad mini 6, then check for local pickup for your location. It should show some matches for 12 closest stores even if it isn't exactly what you are looking for. Rotate your choices on pickup to see if it shows other matches you might consider.

I used this method many times as a way to acquire Apple products without the weeks waiting for delivery if your vigilant and patient. You might find what you want the same day, it might take several days. If you see what you want, don't hesitate online, others are looking online also. It won't be there if you don't order and drive to the store. Good luck. :)
