Do you think the new 13" iPad Pro is lot easier to hold for viewing content? Or do you typically always keep it attached to the keyboard? Debating between 13" or 11". I'm coming from 2018 11" iPad Pro.

Also, does the audio/bass still sound good even with the thinness?

Yes definitely. If I need to type I have the keyboard on and keep it on for storage. For browsing I take the iPad out.
Go for the 13” if you don’t need portability or for travel. You won’t regret it.

Haven’t tested out the speakers yet sorry.

It is really hard to say which you will prefer. I have owned all the iPads, I liked the 12.9. It was more manageable attached to the Magic Keyboard. Over time, I have preferred the 11 and just with the folio. The way I see it. It is like the three bears. The mini is too close to being a big iPhone. The 12.9 is too close to being a Mac. The 11 seems just right at being an iPad.

The OLED screen is definitely more crisp and clear and pops more off the screen compared to the mini LED on the M2. But I'm also one of those people who use screen protectors and I applied one as soon I took the iPad out the box.
But why? You have it in a keyboard case.

I first went straight to pictures and wondered why your iPad screen looked so bad. I just can't understand it, but you're not hurting anybody (else). Anyway, congrats.

Personal preference? Have had dirt and sand particles trapped on top of the keyboard before leaving dents and scratches on the protector.

You’re right, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and choices.

Curious about the camera compared to the 2022/2021/2020 iPad Pro that were all using the iPhone 11 main lens….also the speakers in such a thin device.

I have been seeing all the reviews for the new iPads. It looks like the majority of reviewers are getting the 13 iPads. They seem to be saying that the iPad hardware is great and the software is behind. I don't think they are getting the point. iPad is not a computer replacement. If Apple planned for the iPad to be a computer replacement, it would be running MacOS. Maybe in the future the OS's will get more similar. 17 years ago the iPhone was just phone and iPod. It is much more now.

Picked up my iPad Pro 13” M4 256 GB Wifi space black with Magic Keyboard just now from Apple Sydney

First impressions
  • The iPad is ridiculously thin and noticeably lighter than the M2 iPP I had
  • When combined with the lighter new keyboard, it feels much easier to carry around than the old combo. The old combo was much thicker and heavier than the 13" MBA I had
  • New Magic Keyboard feels more premium on the inside. Keyboard lights up automatically when you attach the iPad.
  • The outisde of the keyboard is the same sticky silicone material as past versions. Not a fan so would be adding a skin to protect it soon.
  • The OLED screen is definitely more crisp and clear and pops more off the screen compared to the mini LED on the M2. But I'm also one of those people who use screen protectors and I applied one as soon I took the iPad out the box.
  • You need to update the software during the setup process.

Ask me anything and I'll respond between work meetings :)

What happens when you use an old iPad Pro (if you still have yours) on the new Magic Keyboard? And likewise old Keyboard, new iPad?

The reviewers could literally write the same review every cycle. They all want macOS with a touch screen for whatever stupid reason. The iPad has kept its charm for a reason, it’s not a Mac! The only things I think need to be better is a native font system and better files app. Otherwise my iPad Pro replaced my Mac years ago for personal use or for creative tasks.

Mine comes tomorrow. I’m really hoping that shows like DC cartoons have much better blacks and true black letter boxing so that they are more watchable, especially in the dark.

I picked my iPad Pro 13in this morning but an issue when transferring from older iPad. Once I scanned the blue pattern with the old iPad everything froze…. I tried it 2 more times and the same thing happened. Ended up restoring from iCloud backup

Interesting. What iPad are you upgrading from?

On your old device you may have been running an older OS and your new iPad could not accept the data from your old device. Always make sure your old device is up to date before transferring to a new device.

How is it if you’re holding in your hand watching video or playing audio? Is there any vibration? Does the back get warm?
