I was like that when l was younger, now older l don’t bother with screen protectors. Just use it carefully.
Exactly, I used to care too much about that. I do care but just take care of my stuff. I have no case or screen protector on any of my iPhone/iPads/Macs. I would always think when I got a new device they look so much better without the screen protector. Everything just jumps off the screen. So I quit using that stuff.

However, I do have a magnetic screen cover that I put on my iPad when I plan to do any drawing or extensive writing with the Pencil. It makes it feel like I am writing on paper - sometimes it’s annoying to look at so I rarely use it for that but when I do it’s magically and makes the drawing process so much nicer. I wonder if the nano texture display would feel better with the PencilPro?

To each their own for their own reasons. I did hand my iPhone to someone for a photo which was a big mistake and needed to use ACP.

I’m very happy to have gone with the 13”. I love the weight reduction and I’m using it as a tablet in my hands (and I have rheumatoid arthritis, so if I can do it, anyone can).

The screen is awesome. I added a screen protector first up. The black backgrounds are quite reflective and it’s noticeable if trying to take a photo of the iPad. Yet, the screen pops of colour and I’m happy with the standard OLED screen.

I restored from backup, so it’s still downloading apps in the photos below.

Also, I know that I have a lot of unread email. It’s mostly spam as I sometimes enter competitions.

Pics of the side of the keyboard when closed. I think the screen does touch the aluminium palm rests on either side of the trackpad. The gap you see in the pics is probably because of the screen protector I installed.

thanks!

How's the color temperature of the screen compared to the mini-led lcd? Is it similar or is it closer to the oled iphones?

Well, there is a lot of people using iPad as an iPad only. I sometimes watch these YouTube’s where the mainly use the pencil to write notes, diaries me edit movies. It’s amazing to see that no Mac is nearby for them to do anything. I think there is a core group of users that is not interested or unaware of anything pc/Mac way of doing things. They simple are happy that it’s simple to use.

Then there are people far more comfortable with pc/macs and either have an iPad as complementary or try to make it the main computing device. It seems those people suffer the most of the “limited” experience. They have the problem of knowing how much a computer can do and keep hitting the wall if they try to do it.

For now it doesn’t seem to be an easy problem to solve for Apple. To just make the Mac a touch device you suffer the same problem as windows with their 2-in-1s, is neither great for either. They could just give people what they want, but the experience might be mediocre and unclear and makes it hard to have a clear direction how the improve the hardware and software. Their current strategy so far is to actually not alter the original experience of each platform but provide more ways to interact with each other (sidecar, sharing input, copy paste etc). Sidecar is clearly a Mac driven function, since the opposite doesn’t exist (is that true?).

At least with the current iPad and Mac experience there is a clear distinction. And “some” pc/Mac first tech reviewer are constantly wanting it to be more Mac like. Perhaps the core users of each will always be different.
Being accustomed to the PC paradigm may be a factor, and an iPad is more than capable for simply watching YouTube. It however falls way short on some very basic productivity things with multitasking. If you created a project in FinalCutPro for instance, and simply swiped into another app while doing an export, it will immediately kill the export. And we can't just blame that on 8GB on RAM. 8GB Macs won't do that.

That sounds interesting! Would you mind sharing a link to the product you’re talking about, please?

Two questions: What's the wattage of the power brick? And is there more wobble with the new Pro + keyboard relative to previous generations?

Picked up my iPad Pro 13” M4 256 GB
Could you kindly confirm single core performance. I know the 10 core ones are getting 3900+ and whilst single core should be the same with the 9 core, would like to confirm it ;-)

Upgraded from my 11” 2018 IPP and had the M2 12.9 for a few mths.

The 13”
1. The screen is bloody gorgeous, miles ahead of the 2018 11” IPP I had.
2. The weight difference is noticeable, it feels so much better in the hand.
3. The keyboard this year is much much better, it does feel as if I’m typing on the magic keyboard I use for my Mac mini.
4. Compared to the m2 12.9 IPP I had for 3 mths before I sold it ( when I heard about OLED coming), I enjoy using the 13” by far.

Less of an M4 iPad specific question, more of an iPad Pro with thunderbolt question...

Do you happen to know if it will work with a thunderbolt dock, in the same way that a MacBook Pro will?

Obviously drivers may be an issue if they're required, but curious to know just how far this sort of hardware compatibility will go via the thunderbolt port.

Specifically, I have an OWC dock I use with the MBP 14", would be great if I could just plug an iPad into it the same way and get the second display, USB ports for peripherals/drives/etc.

I don’t have a thunderbolt dock but the Hyper 18–in-1 USB C hub, works as you would expect it to, I seem to be having difficulty with audio out, troubleshooting that now.

I didn't expect it to be that good! It’s so amazingly thin, it is incredible, guys. Who needs textured nano-glass when you have a good hand at applying screen protectors  Loving the ESR Paperfeel so far! Technology and engineering on another level, no buyers remorse here :):apple:
