Thats as good as it gets, AFAIK.My screen only has blooming in a darkroom.
Espcially all those talking head youtube reviewers that say it doesn’t have any blooming, an outright lieYou get used to the blooming eventually. I just dont like when people say it doesnt exist. Its just there in some amount under some circumstances. it only gets better the more you use it.
Not with an XDR display. Are there actually any iPad Pro’s that doesn’t have blooming at all?
This is the Kindle app on my iPP. Not quite as bad IRL but definitely noticeable. I’m running the latest public beta. Has it been determined that this is a display issue one nothing can be done via software to correct?

Was the glow in square edged chunks? Then it was an artifact of the LED subgroups being larger than the area being lit. If it was a smooth fall off, then it was just what happens any time a bright object is shown against a significantly black background.there was a noticeable glowing effect.
I disagree, but is just personal preference.Pretty easy tradeoff for those far-better blacks.
I exchanged it because of blooming, hoping that the second one will have a less noticeable glare. You exchanged the first one because of blooming or because it was defective? I really don't see how the right one isn't better than the 11", as it's such a minor issue overall.
Apple definitely needs to tweak the aggressiveness, having over 2000 dimming zones should allow for much more precise dimming, not anything like the example on the right (which looks like the display has barely 100 zones...)Comparing my 11” M1 model with the second 12.9“ M1 that I got after exchanging the first one, because of blooming.

But how often is one going to stare at an empty black screen?Looks awful! Those blooming squares… lol. To
Many zones light up…
i mean taht's pretty crazy blooming considering there's 2000 micro-leds. this is supposed to be the professionals choice?Comparing my 11” M1 model with the second 12.9“ M1 that I got after exchanging the first one, because of blooming.

It has blooming in extreme scenarios, and looks phenomenal otherwise. Watching good HDR content on it is something else. The brightness this thing pumps out is crazy.
I think they can easily tweak it with software to make it less distracting, but they can also just ignore it lol.
No OLED in the world can replace an iPad if it's running Android imo, but each to their own!
So show us some dark scenes that look like ****. I've heard nothing but praise for this display for movies.Quite often if you watch movies and have dark scenes. Every dark scene looks like sh*t.

As a pure tablet, there is no competition between even the cheapest Ipad and the best Android tablet, Ipads are far superior.Yeah, I still have 6 older Android tablets and a while back I gave a Galaxy Tab S7+ a try but returned it - I just can't go back to Android. My 2021 12.9" iPP is a joy to use.
There are a lot of micro-leds, but they’re situated in groups of 4 such that all 4 in a group are on at the same time. More like 500 regions of 2000 mleds.I understand blooming is necessary with this technology. What i don't understand is why the halo is so wide. I thought there were so many micro-leds that the blooming shouldn't be a giant halo around the light source?
I’m just going to leave this here...Quite often if you watch movies and have dark scenes. Every dark scene looks like sh*t.
this so much. I just don't get how some blooming in rare occasions is a reason to go back to a normal lcd screen. It's so much better, and it will only get better from here.
