Yeah, reboots don’t seem to do anything, but I just completed a full restore after a factory reset which resolved the issue, as it’s now showing 11GB. I expect that number to go down gradually, but not to 0 again lol. @DiamondarBoss had the same thing, so it’s likely a software issue. Hopefully Apple will release an update to correct the problem.

I‘m glad you solved it. 11 GB seems huge but I think it’ll go down for sure eventually. Let’s wait if it’s a common issue that apple mentions in the patch notes 🤞🏼

Yeah, I only completed the restore an hour or so ago, so it’s still higher than usual. At one point, it was at 39GB lol. Will see where it’s at in the morning - I would expect it to be closer to 5GB.

EDIT: It’s now down to 4GB!

Have you been using Cellular Data? Are you using the Original Charger? Since it’s a new iPad it’s probably doing a lot of Background Processes. Let us know if this resolves in a few days. Also, you were playing a game. That might also be why. My 11” gets about 7 hours on a game, and 11 hours just doing Work.
Yeah I used the charger that came with it, and I was connected to WiFi.

Idk, my battery doesn’t last nearly as long as it did before the updates, and I haven’t been using it any differently than before. I’m hoping there will be some sort of fix for the issue soon.
Really? Mine wasn’t lasting very long after the Updates too, so I chatted with Apple Support and they ran a Remote Diagnostic. After that, my battery was back to iPadOS 13 Levels of Battery Life. Mind You, that was on iPadOS 14.0.0. I am still on that, not on 14.0.1.

Guess I should have waited a bit to update 14.0.1. I didn’t even have the chance to see my battery life on 14.0 but after I see your on screen time it seems better than mine. I hope they can handle these issues next update or so. 🤔

Hmm. Did they do, or have you do, something special to fix it, i.e restore or reinstall OS?

I think I should reconsider my thoughts about screen protectors. What are your suggestions ? Should I really be worried if I don't use any? Is taking good care enough just to use pencil or daily usage? Fingerprints and grease left on the screen bothers me a little. But at the same time I dont want to disturb this beautiful screen. Is there any protector which not decreasing the quality but takes care of those "stains"? (I dont know if it's the right term since English is not my mother tongue 😬)

I don’t have a screen protector. The Fingerprints originally bothered me, but now almost 2 Months Later (Wow, it’s been a while) they don’t bother me. I won’t put a screen protector on my iPad. It’s not really going anywhere, and I have the Magic Keyboard to protect the screen while it’s closed. So I don’t need one.

Nope. They just ran a Remote Diagnostic, took like a Minute. They said Everything was fine, and after I ended the Chat Session I noticed that the Battery lasted quite a bit longer.

I have some kind of folio case but not the original one so it protects when it's closed. Other than that I trust you so I'll give it a shot without any protector. Initially I didn't want but the more I use the more I worry about 😂.

My iPad was on iOS 13.6 when it arrived. A tad bit frustrating because for some reason, the WiFi was not working at all with the iPad. I contacted Apple Support and they told me to update via iTunes. Completely fixed it! I have no idea why the WiFi was having so much trouble with 13.6  Anyways, it's such a beautiful device and it was very much worth the month-long wait :D

That’s great, but it makes me wonder if they did something “behind the scenes“ that you are not aware of. Restoring via iTunes is not an option for me, since I no longer have my MacBook Air, just my iPad Pro.

I haven't had one on my iPad Mini 3 and I've had that for years. I'm very careful with it though. My partner's iPad/iPhone and the kids' devices definitely have screen protectors and cases though... They're not as careful.

I'm seeing the same thing: for 11 (both colors and Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi+ Cellular) it's 3-4 weeks, i.e., ordered today it would be 10/21-28. For the 12.9 it's 10/14-21. For the 11 Wi-Fi + Cellular 1TB model, it's 4-5 weeks (or 10/29-11/5).

In New England, I'm also seeing that many 12.9 configs are available today in the Boston-area stores. Not in my neck of the woods, but same region.

I’m seeing 10/16 to 10/23 delivery windows (to where I am in Canada) for 12.9” models, and 10/23 to 10/30 for 11” models, except for the 11” 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular in Silver, which is showing 10/30 to 11/6.
