Now that *most* of us have our iPads, what have you been using them for? I’ve been using mine for work, Video Editing, and my favorite; Making music.
It’s crazy what you can do with the Free GarageBand app that is included on all iPads!
For Example: here’s something I’m working on:
I've had a ball with mine so far. I use Safari, Procreate, and Notability most. I can't draw well lol but love Procreate anyway. I also use Apple music, remote desktop, and Calm a lot on it too.

I got cellular because where I live in the mountains I got crap WiFi, and I’m always traveling and I hate having to use my hotspot to run all the iPads in my car lol.

Y’all are not going to believe this but... my iPad was PERFECT! No dents, scratches, bending, nothing! She’s perfect! 😍 I couldn’t believe it with how bad the box was!
Congratulations! So glad to hear the news! I've been watching your posts about the journey... Your patience is remarkable! - I on the other hand, would have been all up in their face (mask On 😂) about this and would not have been nearly as nice as you've been. I would have been quite the professional, but not very nice! 😒😂

It finally showed up today!!! I already had all of the stuff on the left for a few weeks.

Has anyone else who has gotten their new iPad recently have their Other System Data not taking up any space? For the first few days after I got my iPad, it was averaging about 5GB, but has since gone down to 0, which I find hard to believe lol. I’m still noticing my overall storage fluctuating about 1GB throughout the day, but if the Other System Data isn’t taking up any space, I’m not sure what else could be causing it. I also have no idea if there is anything specific I could have done that has it sitting consistently at 0.

Nope. Mine is at 3.47 GB. Have you tried a hard reboot? Maybe totally unrelated, but earlier, I kept receiving a notification that I needed to authenticate my email. Every time I tried, it wouldn’t let me. It was doing it on iPad and iPhone. Hard reboot seems to have corrected it (hopefully). Maybe it’s something to do with 14.01?

Yeah, I’ve rebooted a number of times, but it always shows Zero KB. It’s been that way for about 3 weeks now, since before iOS 14 was released. Never had the email authentication issue though. Wonder if backing up my iPad and doing a factory reset would fix it.

I figured iPadOS had a more efficient system, but zero KB is extremely efficient. 😉

That seems a little drastic to me, and a real pain. I would only do that as a last resort, lol. Do you think it may correct itself?

Well, just got another notification to validate my email (sigh). It went away for a short time. It must be something with the recent update. It seems to have several bugs. Oh, the aggravation, lol. 🤬

Too efficient to be true, unfortunately. 😅

It’s been that way for a few weeks now, and I wondered if it would fix itself at some point but didn’t. Though I just did a reset and it’s now showing 14GB, so it seems to have corrected the issue, at least for now! I’ll keep an eye on for the next several days and hopefully it doesn’t mess up again or I might have to initiate a support request. 😬😜

I live on the technical side of things and like to know how everything works, but I never pay attention to that number. It doesn't seem to really affect anything and I've never seen it mentioned in any Apple troubleshooting articles. Is it really worth your time to be that concerned about it?

I first noticed it a few weeks ago, but didn’t really think much about it until now when I was trying to manage my storage. But I agree it doesn’t seem to affect much if anything, so in the unlikely event this is related to a hardware issue with my iPad, and a replacement would be in order to fix it permanently, I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble of going through it, especially since I went through several replacements already from Best Buy in July.

But still just a bit curious lol.

If you’re curious, mine’s at 0KB as well. I haven’t updated to iPadOS 14.0.1 yet, I’ll do that when I have time and let you guys know.

Ok, good to know I’m not the only one lol. But 0KB doesn’t seem right, and it’s probably something software related, though I can’t remember if I first noticed it right after a software update. However, I definitely saw it before iPadOS 14 was released, and updating to that and 14.0.1 since didn’t seem to correct it.

Thank you! It was pretty hard not to loose my mind on them. 🤣

Guys, quick question. Is it normal to only get 5:30 hours of run time on my IPP?? All I did was play a game and it ran completely dead from a full charge after 5:30 hours.

I figured I’d get more battery life than 5 hours. My second one from BB is coming Wednesday and I’m going to open it and see how long the battery last on it.

The 12.9” is known to have less battery life than the 11”. Add in the fact that iOS 14 seems to have drained the battery of many people’s iPads quicker (it has for mine) and you’ll get even less on a full charge. You might notice an improvement in a few days since you just got it and set it up today, though probably not by a whole lot. I wouldn’t worry too much for the reasons I mentioned.

Have you been using Cellular Data? Are you using the Original Charger? Since it’s a new iPad it’s probably doing a lot of Background Processes. Let us know if this resolves in a few days. Also, you were playing a game. That might also be why. My 11” gets about 7 hours on a game, and 11 hours just doing Work.

nope. Mine is still around 5 GB. I am on 14.0.1. I wonder if it’s a bug or something. You said you did reboot. It’s strange. please keep us informed if you find out what’s going on. 🤔

i haven’t been able to use one full day but the most I got 6.5 hours on a day around %70-80 battery. Just used for twitter-safari-YouTube. Gaming probably will consume more but I do think after couple of days it might get better since you just set up and there could b thing in the background.

since we are talking about batteries; does 30-80 efficiency still valid for iPad? I think I read something about iPhones we should let it die or go below 20. Keeping 30-80 most of the time will be better. Is it true or what do you guys thinking 🤔?

Yeah, reboots don’t seem to do anything, but I just completed a full restore after a factory reset which resolved the issue, as it’s now showing 11GB. I expect that number to go down gradually, but not to 0 again lol. @DiamondarBoss had the same thing, so it’s likely a software issue. Hopefully Apple will release an update to correct the problem.
