Yeah... Keyboard expected 27th , pencil 28th. iPad 3-10 August ?
Don’t worry. You should get you Pencil earlier than expected if it‘s on “Preparing to Ship”. Same for the Keyboard. The iPad, will unfortunately probably come within the time frame. But not that long to go!

Unfortunately both are still on processing! ?

I'm checking the order page multiple times a day, it's painful lol.
However, I'm spending this time researching which apps are best suited for my workflow.
Actually, in the last couple of days I have rediscovered Safari after being a long time user of Chrome for all my browsing. Safari is so incredibly fast. The only downside I can see is no Windows client. Chrome worked well for me as I use iPhone, iPad, Macbook Pro, Windows desktop. To get round the bookmark problem, I just duplicated them across to Safari for the time being.

I'm now concentrating on evaluating the task of taking notes. The Apple notes app isn't bad, and it's got full cross platform support including Windows. Notability gets mentioned a lot, and I've checked that out. Seems ok, but no Mac or web app, and obviously no access from Windows. MS Onenote seemed like the perfect solution but it crashed multiple times on the iPad (Air 1, 1GB RAM), so I binned that. It may work better on the IPP with 6GB of RAM, but it's ringing alarm bells that it died so frequently.

I originally used MS OneNote on my iPad Pro 9.7” for notes. It has 2GB of RAM. I never had any Problems, but the inability to print notes on a Letter sized piece of Paper is what caused me to switch to Notability. Also I’ve been using Safari for a while now, and I love it. I think Syncing bookmarks with your Windows PC should work fine.
I also am using a Magic Trackpad 2 with my Pro 9.7” while I’m at my desk with the Smart Keyboard, so I’m excited about the new MK with the Integrated Trackpad and Proper keys. I’ll probably still use the Magic Trackpad with my new iPad and MK at my desk still though lol.
Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, Magic iPad? :p

EDIT: I have my Order Page in a separate tab on my iPad, and with 2GB of RAM it’s painful lol

Don’t forget the Ridiculous Apple Pencil Charging method on my current iPad ?.
Also, I’m wondering if the Magic Keyboard for the iPad provides any additional Structrural support, since you know the new iPad Pros
erm
Bend.
It’s gonna be in my backpack, so I dont want to have a bent iPad lol.

I know this issue very well.... and having worried about it for days on end, I've decided it's not really an issue worth worrying about. If it bends, it bends. I'll moan at Apple until they replace it as a defective item, or if that doesn't work, just accept I'll have to put it through the AppleCare+.

I always look after my stuff. Never broke a screen on any device. All my stuff gets replaced out because of it slowing down. I went from a 3GS to 5S to 8Plus to 11 Pro Max (ok, that last one was just treating myself!). I went from iPad (the original) to iPad Air 1 to (now) iPad Pro 12.9 (2020).

If the IPP 2020 bends, I will argue to the death that it is a defect, and I will gather all the evidence from this forum and elsewhere to prove it's a common issue. I've done it before for the keyboard issue on the MBP Pro 2017 when they initially refused to accept the butterfly keyboard was faulty by design.

I do think you're right in saying the MK should give substantial protection for bending especially in a backpack. From what I've read, the MK weighs more than the IPP itself! It looks like a solid piece of kit too. The combination should prevent any bends I would imagine. My worry would be if I take the iPad off the MK and use it on the desk. With the camera bump, surely writing with the pencil on the uneven iPad is just asking for bending issues?

When I take the IPP off the case to take notes, I will probably lay it on top of the closed case with the camera bump aligned with the cutout on the back. This will let the IPP lay flat and then it probably wont bend lol.

Is that possible? Won't the cutout be in the wrong place if you're using it on a closed case? Maybe I'm wrong.

Another issue I'm seeing with the IPPs - so far all 2018 models - is the spotlighting or light bleed. I'm hoping this isn't an issue on the 2020s.

You flip the case around.

Hmm, I'm being thick, I know I am. I just can't picture it.

The MK doesn't open and flip round back on itself right?

I'm sure I'll figure out something when I get it

Right, it doesn't flip back, which is one of the reasons I like it so much. I tried the SKF and didn't like the exposed keyboard when flipped back. If you have a request for a photo of the MK to help you picture different angles, I'd be happy to post one for you.

That would be awesome, thanks!

The only use case I can't picture it taking the iPad off, and somehow using the case to flatten out the camera bump while scribbling notes on the desk, as DiamondarBoss seems to think is possible.

Well, the camera is recessed, but I would use soft material under it when flipping it. Here's a video I just made that shows pushing the iPad angle to flat and then flipping it. You can see that it's flat against the desk. Does this help answer your question?

Perfect!
Thanks so much, that does the job :D
I’m so dumb, the Camera cutout is on the wrong side lol
I originally thought that you could lay the ipad on top of it when it’s like this but you cant lol
