I think people need to stop defending Apple when they make a poo-poo. The fact that the iPads bend as easily as they do is a real issue. Even if you protect it in a very sturdy case, it completely negates the thinness and lightness of the device.
My old iPad Pro has a very slight curve to it, which is most likely from drawing on it. I've used it with a case that supports the whole back of the iPad. No big deal as it's hardly noticeable, but the device sure could have been made tougher.
The new iPad Pro is clearly weaker, which begs the question of how it will look after a year of use?
The aluminium Apple uses is soft as butter. Both the display on the front and the cover on the back are paper thin. There's no extra support on the inside. On top of that you have weak points in the frame.
After the iPhone 6 bend gate I would have expected Apple to take a little more care with the structural integrity. Like, at least use tougher materials and make it a little bit thicker.
When Apple makes poor decisions people should complain, not defend them.
Meanwhile, I'm going to baby my new iPad Pro and hope it stays in good shape.
