Serbia is not blacklisted, Apple devices have been legally sold here for quite a while. Sadly, we’re a small market and Apple doesn’t care too much - so iOS has not been translated to Serbian, and even the App Store arrived only recently (before that, we actually had to use the Croatian App Store). But Apple is legally present, selling products through operators and authorized resellers, honoring all warranties, replacement programs and offering customer support like anywhere else.

But it sucks, and a lot of people coming from “1st world countries” have no idea how lucky they are, actually. Because there are much worse places to live in then Serbia, and Serbia is a much, much worse place to live than, say, Germany or USA. So, do the math.

As for being payed by Apple for writing here - lol, I wish :)

I am also not super loaded with money, in fact, if you’re from the US or an EU country, chances are you are better-off than me. My income allows me to get a new iPhone and iPad every few years, and sometimes, much less frequently, a new Mac. I am lucky in that way, that is beyond the reach of the vast majority of Serbian people (though many have iPhones these days).

The reason I am “defending” Apple is because I actually believe what I’m saying. And I like their products. And I consider writing here good fun - it’s actually quite a good exercise for my English.

OK. Sorry I rudely accused u of working for Apple, but isn't it a fairly legit question why u would buy an Apple product in a country that Apple doesn't care about too much? How easy can it be getting tech support and warranty service there?

Don't put your country down on the basis of other countries making more money. There are more important things than money.

As for me, I use my equipment in rough environments and I would like to see rugged equipment even at a sacrifice of a couple of ounces, with the added benefit of a bigger battery and headphone jack, but we've all gone through that before. And the counterargument of just buy a strong case is valid too, sort of, a little. I guess we all have to agree to disagree, and again, sorry if I was rude.

I don’t really understand the question - I buy Apple products because I think they are best for my needs. Also, when I say Apple doesn’t care that much - I mean in terms how long did it take them to offer certain services here (like Apple Music). It’s not that they don’t offer tech support or warranty here, of course they do.

Anyway, I like Apple products, and iPad Pro (I have the 3rd gen) is one of my most favorite devices ever. I use it every day. It’s great, light, fast, well built, and fun to use. This is the reason I bought it, so, not sure why this is in question.

As for putting my country down - it’s not the money, it’s the legal system. Our courts are slow, our laws are old and our bureaucracy is huge. Corruption is high and so is incompetence. It is what it is, and hopefuly it will get better one day, if we manage to get accepted into EU. But, again, that doesn’t mean Apple does not offer warranty - perhaps I gave the wrong impression - it’s not that bad that companies don’t offer tech support or honor warranties :)

I've had mine since March last year and have noticed a slight curve from top to bottom. I just carefully pulled it back into position. I keep it in a case all the time so I wasn't sure how that happened. The last time I took it out to clean it, it looked fine.

is it LTE model or WIFI model ?

Initially bought a 4th gen 12.9 to replace my messed up 2nd gen 12.9, but was using it and worried about the unresponsive screen issues and that they don’t seem to have done anything about the structure, so I sent it back and got a refurb of the IPP 10.5 and think this will work out better. Also ordered the new Logitech Combo Touch keyboard with trackpad. Thinking this will be the killer setup. And at a substantial savings over the 12.9 alone.

UPDATE: Sent the Combo Touch back - typing on it sucks. And I find the trackpad is awkward to use - for example trying to zoom in/out using it is difficult to get the zoom level you wanot. So, now I have the 10.5 Pro with a generic backlit keyboard case off Amazon that’s great to type on.

Hey guys, just got a 12.9 pro model from Verizon on Friday and it had a slight curve near the bottom end. Not sure if that’s in “spec” per Apple but honestly I didn’t notice it till I put it one a flat surface screen down (very gently) between that and Verizon’s restocking fee, I’m just going get a case and carry on using it.

could you please tell if it is LTE or WIFI model ?
I have heard that in 90% cases, LTE models have bending issues.

that would explain it more. that slot makes it easier to bend the ipad more. seen some jerry rig it videos test lte vs wifi only; but still a case even a small one can easily slow down or even stop the bending
Got one coming in the mail tomorrow. Love the way it looks but having it naked makes me uneasy.

my 12.9” WiFi just arrived, bent out of the box. Bends off at the bottom Toward one corner. Can slip paper under a straight edge.

Laying flat on the glass you can slide paper under it? I believe it would be acceptable to ask for a replacement.

Actually, it was a thin sheet of paper and as I’ve investigated the manufacturing tolerances, it may be within the 400 microns (essentially a half mm) They spec. I think the total warpage is greater, but it’s a compound curve, so when measured against a straight edge, it may be within spec (I don’t think any gap is anywhere near a mm and I can’t accurately measure or eyeball below that). It seems fine during use, but Apple really shouldn’t use all those 90 degree angles if they are going to be this sloppy — on a curved edge, I might not have even noticed and then checked with the straight edge.

After a bit of back and forth with three different folks at Apple, it seems the best option is to do a return, which gives me 28 days (14 day return period followed by 14 days to ship), which should be enough to get a new unit sent. Also, curbside pickup may be back next week in my region, so we’ll see. Maybe I won’t bother, now that I have the issue on record in case it gets worse.

Otherwise, it’s quite surprising how much better this is for my uses compared to my 11“ 2018, which I used to think was perfect for me. Mostly it’s the size, but I think the extra RAM is also helping — I never noticed a lag on the 2018, but scrolling, app switching, and general feel seems even smoother on this one.

Just picked up a 2018 11" 1TB WIFI + LTE on clearance.

What is the easiest way to check for bending issues?
If you have a flat glass table, that’s probably best. Face down on the table you should be able to see if any edge doesn’t touch the table. Also, if it wobbles, it’s not flat. Otherwise, maybe a straight edge?

Is there a class action lawsuit for this issue? I sent in an iPad Pro for another issue and was told I had to pay $499 to repair as it bent, although it is within the 1 year warranty period. This issue was not apparent to me when I observed the iPad on a flat surface before sending it in.

i cant believe this issue was not corrected , ive been sitting on the fence since the first one was released...went to look at one at best buy a year ago and looking down the side of the ipad it had a slight bow in the center on the display model however the screen was fully functional
