iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

Techdude. In SoCal (San Diego) still not showing any updates from Kentucky.

Any thoughts?? :D
 
The worst thing about this is that if it doesn't get delivered tomorrow, it'll be a horrible wait for the next two days. Already these past two days have taken forever...

My friend at work that reserved his for in store pickup has alerted me that his is STILL saying that it's in China? The good thing is, apple is really good at smoothing things over in some sort of credit of upgrade.


Mine is STILL saying it left Korea, and UPS says it wont be here til Monday. Looks like I'm better off just trying to get one at the apple store? but at this point...I'm sure the lines are around the block. Thanks UPS!

Realize each person at UPS does not necessarily know about Apple and the packages - plus until their system (which is similar to ours UNLESS it is managers, who can look into the raw data available at hubs) shows a scan in KY, they can't reliably give you a delivery date.

They say BY Monday a lot too if they haven't gotten to KY, because that is the LATEST it will come. It does not mean it WILL come on Monday...

You have to listen to their wording, as they like to cover their ass a lot... :D

Haha I know right? Or I should work with existing tracker's developers and sell them my ideas for a fully integrated system :D
 
Wouldn't this be a lot of bad PR for UPS if they don't get these delivered by Saturday (in areas that support Sat. delivery)?

If I were UPS, I'd pull some strings and arrange an Easter Sunday delivery...

but really, if I saw your tracking number, I could tell you how close they were in shipment and if they are reaalllyy close then they could possibly have the same status.

But I wont ask and I dont really want them - they may not look close, you have to know how their numbers work and how they are assigned to the packages - a big difference chronologically may not necessarily mean those pacakges were sent far apart...

Why would his order show it being an hour from my house, while my order appears to be on the other side of the world? How the hell could their status updates be that far off? That's what I'm trying to figure out. At this point I'll be amazed if mine shows up tomorrow.
 
This is absurd my package was in Korea as of 8 pm last night if it's not here tomorow I'm going to throw a fit at ups and apple seriously

I guess I am an Apple Kool-Aid drinker because I still believe that UPS will be delivering my iPad tomorrow as I was told when I pre ordered on day 1. Hopefully none of us will be dissapointed. In Steve we trust.

BTW Techdude thanks for all the help in talking people off the ledge in this thread. :)
 
Anchorage Flight

Well UPS Flight #42 arrives here in Anchorage in 1 hour and 59 minutes from Kentucky, I guess a few hours after it lands I will see if my status changes to anything other than in transit Korea.

Looks like I'm SOL. After talking with UPS a minute ago, it sounds like if your status is still only showing "Billing Information Received" and nothing else-- your iPad has not shipped and will not be delivered tomorrow.
 
Been gone a few hours--not happy to come back and find that I'm on the "Korea Flight of Doom". (I know no one really knows, but seeing all the ones out of the KY hub already sucks.)

I can't believe it, but I'm now pondering a trip to Best Buy in the morning. Not a hopeful one, mind you.

By the way, I walked by my Apple store tonight before and after dinner (upscale suburban mall), no lines or signs of activity. Maybe take a shot at the 3pm thing.

Yes, but you do realize North Korea wants South Korea and one of their ships mysteriously sank the other day... Kim Jong could have infiltrated UPS as one of their pilots and hijacked the flight and took it into North Korea where he is handing out our iPads to all the little kids...

Well, all I can say is that there are flight to Burbank, Ontario, and LAX every morning at 3-4 AM local(EST) from KSDF.

IK that isnt your area haha - there is also a daily flight from KSDF @ 3:30 AM direct to KSAN San Diego :)

So you will see activity at/before that time :D

All I can say is this:

There were two flights that went through Insheon Korea in the past two days.

The first flight is the one that scan is showing.

The flight went from Hong Kong to insheon to Anchorage to Louisville - and again it has completed it TWICE.

As well, UPS NEVER drops a package bound for the US in another country, unless that country is where the packages are to be delivered.

And lastly, the Air Transit scan is completely different than arrivla, departure, or otherwise - it signifies your package's movement on that aircraft to that country, however your package was never removed from the hold and will continue to the next stop.

Why it was never scanned in PANC? I don't know... but my heart (and my logic and data) says that they are in KSDF Louisville :)

You may not see an update till it leaves or even until it is out for delivery :(

Mine says the same, and I am about 3 blocks from the capitol building itself.
