TechDude, thanks for all your help. I didn't get an email-- and it's shipping to Center City Philadelphia... which surely has Saturday delivery.

Hey! I was just in Philly about 2 months ago... interesting story, but we wound up getting to the airport at 2 AM and waiting for our flight at 11 AM... intersting trip.

But we walked around a bit in Center City and had some fun even though it was freeeezzzzing xD

Anyways, yea I am not sure - like I said I hope that the UPS system is just bogged and screwed, and I would keep checking your status, because it may update when it breaks off the pallet or when it departs...

Good luck though :D

I'll tell you what...if the iPad on the Korea Flight of Doom actually shows up tomorrow, I'm getting a T-Shirt made saying "I survived the Korea Flight of Doom". If you happen to see a 6'4", 260 lb. guy wearing that shirt, let me know you survived the Flight of Doom also. :D

I'd like to pre-order one no matter what happens. Please be sure to get some in girlie-t cut. :)

(I was already thinking about changing my sig to this if we ever get an update, so I am totally on board.)

Maybe this will help calm some nerves - the wheels are definitely beginning to turn faster at UPS. My iPad (originating in China, so no clue about the Korea origin group) just went from Louisville, KY, to Chicago, IL, in 13 minutes (well, 73 minutes, counting the time zone difference). Looks like the holding pattern is over and they are getting to local sorting facilities.

My status has looked like this since this morning.

GUANGZHOU, CN 04/02/2010 4:10 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
SHENZHEN, CN 03/29/2010 11:11 A.M. ORIGIN SCAN
CN 04/02/2010 9:01 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED
Tracking results provided by UPS:* 04/02/2010 9:34 P.M.* ET

I'm going to be pissed if this thing doesn't show up tomorrow.

GOOD NEWS TO EVERYONE IN THE KOREAN SHIPMENT!

I just waited a long time and spoke with the manager at UPS call center and she said that all those packages have cleared customs, and are schedueled for delivery TOMORROW! She said they have had a few hundred calls about this shipment and it is a GURANTEED DELIVERY!:apple::D:apple:

Thanks. I am stuck in this status. Still no further updates on mine.

Well Mine is one of the unfortunate units that still shows as AIR TRANSIT SCAN in INCHEON KR. Two things. UPS' tracking system is THE WORST. If I don't receive the item tomorrow Apple and UPS had better be prepared to make things right. I do have faith in Apple... UPS ... not so much...

TechDude, for those of us who still have "Billing Information Received" and best case scenario, they just weren't scanned when picked up...when would they most-likely be scanned again?

I live in Georgia and a UPS flight from Louisville arrived in ATL earlier this hour. Should I expect some scan there appearing in the next hour or so?

Also, is there anyway to see planned flights from Louisville to ATL that haven't taken off yet?

Just arrived in Long Beach, CA about 10 minutes ago:

LONG BEACH, CA, US 04/02/2010 6:25 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN

Woo hoo - it's in CA.

It'll probably be driven from there to where I am (in the Santa Barbara area).

Sorry Techdude but I should of made myself more clear. Lowell Indiana not Lowell Maine :D

HAHAHA no wonder!

Well there is a flight out to Des Moines at 5 AM... idk though if they would ship their though because of the proximity...

But that is my best guess :\

Yeah, that definitely helps those of us who are still stuck outside the US as far as tracking goes. My nerves feel great now. :)

(By the way, I know I'm kvetching now, and I know there's nothing anyone can say because we don't know, it's just getting close and not knowing is hard for an impatient info junkie like me. TechDude, please don't feel like you have to keep reassuring us, I know you've definitely tried to lay it all out and I'm sure you're probably right.)

(It still sucks for now!)

Bruiserbear, plug your tracking # in here:

You are probably going to show up with the Korea scan. Let us know.

Does anyone else still show their tracking in SHENZHEN, CN? Mine has been in exception there for over two days now???

Crap, guess not. So, does it show up Monday, or is it a couple of weeks of lost confusion? I know, too early to start crying, but all the other posts talk about some type of changes to the tracking. Mine hasn't really changed since 3/31 (the dates change everyday to that day, but the locations and exceptions are the same). Kinda takes all the fun out of tracking it when it never moves...

Well most likely it would be at local - because those packages HAVE to be in KY already.

Now it may not have been on that flight.

And as for the flights that havent departed, it depends on when the UPS logistics team at WorldPort calls your local flight service office and opens the flight plan for that flight... so you may not see it on flight aware until 4-1 hours before, depending...

All I can say is that you are close, and based on history there may be one at 3 AM... Good luck though!

So the LGB flight was the right one :)

Sweet! Glad I could help xD

complexity

I am on the korean flight as well

Just think how complex this must be for apple and ups
for everything to hit on A saturday!!!
Don't forget all the units that have to be delivered to all the apple
stores and best buy as well, those were probably shipped to arrive today.
I am guessing between apple stores and best buy and us crazies
they are coordinating the shipment of over a million ipads!!
pretty amazing when you stop to think about it !!!
And there is very little room for error!! imagine if one of the stores didn't get their shipment today?
What other product do you know of try to coordinate an introduction to occur on a saturday simultaneously at two diffferent types of retail stores
and direct home shipments?

he definitely is - all of those flights were the ones that left Hong Kong at 4:10. Those are 4:23 were those that went direct to Anchorage from Hong Kong, and never stopped in Insheon...

Yeah. I hate you guys so much. :p

ill believe the korean thing when i see my ipad tomorrow...i am furious at UPS...sorry for saying it a thousand times and i thank techdude because he has been very helpful

My iPad is on the "Korea flight of doom" too. I spoke to ups today who guaranteed me a Sat. delivery...however, I'll believe it when I see it. :)

Oh I agree and I take no offense - I would feel the SAME WAY if I was in your shoes. Even with this info... I can assure you, it would pain me not to have ANYTHING or little at all :(

Don't worry, right there with ya. ;)

For those of you fretting over their iPad tracking number just saying Billing Information Received, I wouldn't get too worked up over it.

UPS is bringing these in with a product called WorldEase. This product allows companies to bring in large quantities of merchandise under one tracking number, and then, once they clear customs the tracking numbers are updated to the individual numbers. The tracking #s should be updated by early tomorrow morning once they clear customs.

Just some food for thought, so stop worrying.
