Oh I just wish i could get a tracking number!

My friend and I who ordered within 30 min of the launch-- neither one of us have received a tracking number.

I am in NC (Raleigh-Durham area) and she is in Minnesota (about an hour from Minneapolis).

I'm 2 hours north of Minneapolis and received my Tracking Number at 11:15 am CST today. Shipping UPS.

Correct. But we'll get some reports, I expect, of a few iPads making it out before Saturday either due to neglect or corruption. There were similar reports the day before the 3GS was delivered.

Well hopefully the nice ups girl delivers something early this week for my dad. That way I can ask and see if she could snag mine and deliver early. She and I are pretty friendly seeing as she asked my dad one time about me. ;)

On the way!

:d

Possibly, but UPS will be all over this, woe be the person who screws this up and delivers one before Saturday.

SHENZHEN, CN 03/30/2010 1:51 A.M. ORIGIN SCAN

Interestingly, my most recent credit authorization (that was #2) has fallen back off again.

Well, I just called UPS International (their direct number is 1800-782-7892)

The woman said she had info that it had been picked up at 8:00AM Local time in China today. With the service they used express shipping, it should be in Massachusetts by 10:30AM TOMORROW. She did a time-in-transit calculation since there was no delivery date listed on the tracking info.

really? I am in Boston also and they keep telling me Monday April 5th!! Ill call again..

Got the scan

Shenzhen, CN 9:26PM Origin Scan 3/29/10.

Anybody else on the same shipment as mine?

Mine is going to Minnesota.

Mine says:

CN 03/29/2010 10:36 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

But were probably on the same plane. I'll save a seat for you :) Mine is bound for Dallas, Texas.

okay FINALLY...I got a UPS agent to fill me in and they are now all up to date on the "special arrangement" that Apple has with UPS. Although none of their systems (it figures) accurately show the updated info in tracking, UPS is well aware that Apple has a guarantee that their customers will receive these packages by Saturday April 3rd and UPS is now open all day because of this arrangement and to assist customers. So UPS finally let their agents know to fill the Apple customers calling that they will indeed get their packages on Saturday April 3rd per Apples arrangement!

about time...this is the info I was waiting to hear!

:):):):)

It's truly amazing the levels that Apple goes to with customer service. They went out of their way to have a special arrangement with the carrier.

In business school Fedex and Disney are always cases that are studied for customer service. I think Apple needs to be added to the mix as well. No other pc manufacturer allows you to walk into a retail store and get questions answers regardless if you have a warranty or not.

I agree. I am always blown away at the level of customer service I receive from them!

Oh the anticipation....I ordered mine within 15 minutes of them going up fro pre-order and still no shipping notification love.

Update

Now mine says

"Shenzhen, CN 3/30/2010 8:59pm Local Time

The service selected is not available to the desitination address/downgraded, forwarded to consignee, selected service not available."

WTF??

Is this fancy wordage mean Sat delivery not available for me or what? How would they know that in China?
