iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

Still in Louisville

Not sure what to think, but is it stuck in customs in LouIsville? The last UPS update is at 5:32 PM yesterday, 4/2, as "IMPORT SCAN".

Any ideas???

it just means that it was ready yesterday and Apple asked them to hold till today.

I am so pathetic... I woke up this morning, and my first thought was "I wonder how all those people on the Korean Flight of Doom (815) are doing?" This was better than a movie!

PS: my long lost, exception filled shipment is now in Dallas... whew. Won't get it until Monday, but I know where it is now at least. So I guess I will just hang out here today to see how the movie ends. ;)

mine is here in Indy also. :)
 
My package finally showed up in Chicago at about 5am today. I'm now feeling very comfortable about it arriving at my house on time. :)

What's really crazy is my friend's package wasn't even prepared for leaving China for a full 36 hours after mine, and yet his arrived in Chicago a full 24 hours before mine. Sure does seem like UPS has some ass backwards flow to it's shipping practices.

I'm not sure. I checked a few recent shipments and they either missed all of their scans, or they have since removed the detail. They all go straight from "Billing Information Received" to "Delivered". I don't normally track my packages in transit unless they seem to be late.

Edit: I just realized that UPS flies in and out of St Pete/Clearwater Airport, so no, it wouldn't go through Orlando. Unfortunately, the flight to PIE landed 45 minutes ago, and I see no activity on my tracking.

I'm beginning to think I may see my iPad today, though probably not in the morning. Very exciting!
 
There really is no way to tell. Best bet would be to leave a note saying you sign for the package in case they do show up while you're at the Apple store.

I'm in the same boat as you. I want to go to Best Buy to get a case but I'm not chancing missing the UPS guy. Especially since its Saturday and that means I'd have to wait until Monday for the next delivery attempt or even to pick it up. I've heard so many different times. Some people are saying it could be anywhere from 8am-8pm. Some are saying between 8am-noon. I'm hoping it comes by 9:30 so I can hightail it to Best Buy before they open.
 
Just listened to ATC guide UPS772 into Houston Bush Intercontinental. Pilots reported single bird birdstrike :eek: and low visibility, but I think I'm still getting my iPad. :)

It's too far back to go search for now, but a couple of days ago someone posted the text of an email they got from Apple, regretfully informing them of a delivery delay and referring to the iPad as "magical and revolutionary". I thought it was an April Fool's thing and called BS, because the word "magical" just didn't ring true. I still can't say it wasn't a joke, but the words were right, as I'm sure many of us saw, bright and early this morning, in the "It's Here!" email from Apple. Hmm. I'm sure it'll be great, but I don't know about "magical", except perhaps for the <7 y.o. audience. In any case, to whomever it's due, my apologies for doubting at least the words of your post, and I hope you get your iPad as on-time as possible!
 
then what if they don't deliver until 3PM? I just wait the whole day, and Bestbuy sell out all cases.

Nobody knows the exact details of the agreement that Apple set with UPS. This saturday might be an exception to any other saturdays, it could go all the way up to 7pm even for locations that normally close at noon or 2pm.

You can survive a day without the case, you could just go tomorrow instead. I'm sure there'll be some case left. If there's nothing, than you can either order online or find another store. Honestly, the iPad will be fine as long as you take care of it.

I am, I looked on Google Maps and Bundlebox are about 10 mins away from the Airport. Plus Louisville is 5hrs behind the UK so if deliveries don't start until 9 we should hopefully see something in the next hour or so.

Hopefully they will arrive at Bundlebox early as I assume they will have so many going there they will probably have there own truck. Just hope they can process them quick enough and get the shipped back out again.

Ya, that was me. It really will be Monday for those of us who live in the sticks... but at least I see it made it to Dallas this morning! :D
