iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

Romulus, MI is the city where Detroit Metro Airport is (about a 40 minute drive from my house). I'm really much more hopeful than I was two days ago when it was still in China!!

It's not uncommon for a package to leave the local area around 9:00AM though. Typically in the past that is what happened with my Saturday deliveries.

Mine didn't go thru Orlando. You know, the hub that is 60 miles away... nope, it went to Jax - you know, 3 hours away.....

Flip, this isn't looking good AT ALL..... i'm ticked.

Nothing has ever gotten to me via St. Augustine.... why is it going thru there????

Just talked to my UPS driver on his cell phone!

My office is closed so I would not get mine today and have to wait till Monday but was very nice and called the number the work week UPS driver gave me and they gave me the drivers cell. He has agreed to call me so we can meet somewhere on his rout!

His truck is packed with iPads, he said he has never seen anything like it and he will be working a long day to get them all delivered!

The UPS people are the best!

So UPS spent all day yesterday telling every single customer that called them that they ARE going to get them today. Now some of us wake up this morning and our packages have not budged.

If UPS doesn't get this thing to me today, I will FOREVER use FedEx for the rest of my waking life by the oath on my grandmother's grave. I SWEAR IT.

Ok here is the latest: my ipad left Charlotte at 7:56 which could mean it's on it's way to the destination facility to be delivered or to sit there till Monday. If it's the latter, I may go see if I can just pick it up.

I'm sure you'll get it today if you didn't receive an e-mail otherwise. Besides, two hours outside of Charlotte isn't that bad at all.

Mine hasn't moved since yesterday morning.

Buy your BB case online and then have it as store pickup. Then you can just drop in and pick it it up anytime and want have to worry about missing either.

Keep in mind with UPS they don't always go in to this status, here in Orlando the last five packages I have had delivered by UPS went straight from the Destination scan to Delivered.

WOW.....suddenly I dont feel so bad. At least mine went through Orlando.

Now, the 50 mile trudge to my house on the east coast, where the are NO Apple stores.

I bet you will all be pleasantly shocked when you get yours today. This is a special circumstance delivery with shoddy updating. Just because it isn't showing an "out for delivery" by 6:00 a.m. at your local hub doesn't mean that you won't get it today. If it is close to you, it will find you. Keep hope alive!

I'm 4 hours away from Dallas and UPS is saying my iPad is being delivered today..we shall see. I know I have UPS/Sat deliveries but usually my packages are out for delivery first thing in the morning, but aren't delivered till around 7pm.

Seems like UPS is dropping the ball big time on this one... I have my finger crossed. The automated system tells me I will have mine today by 7PM. But UPS Agent tells me different. I will have it Monday.

They probably have a large number of iPads being delivered to one location before spreading them out. My iPad has been at Jamaica since 9PM last night.

Interesting - I thought Destination Scan was the last step before Out For Delivery - is this the final drive to the local depot (Deerfield Beach) before delivery, and if so, is it too late?

Relax, just wait it out. A lot of UPS agents don't know about the agreement with Apple and some of them are giving out wrong information as we have seen in this thread.

Total confusion...

Just got off the phone with UPS and they tell me that Apple has sent out notifications to all iPad customers informing them of when they'll receive their iPads - today (4/3) or Monday (4/5). Has anyone received specific confirmation on this? All I have are the order update emails about the order shipping - that's it.

I live near Detroit and am available for Saturday delivery, but UPS says that Apple has specifically contracted with them to follow their delivery instructions. If Apple says to deliver today, then they will; if Apple say Monday, that's when you'll get it.

Not sure who to believe here - I do not have anything from Apple stating this fact, so it sounds a bit like b.s.

I am not in Dallas, but I live close...Fort Worth and I don't have an "out for delivery" yet, but I do have a 5:46 arrival scan and a 6:28 departure scan? I also got notification that my case and VGA adapter have shipped fed ex and will arrive Tuesday.
