iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

I think the timing of the release of this thing is more important to Apple than it being released because its "ready". Unfortunately, for some, it means it will be late.

What does Apple have to loose by being a day (and in 95% of the time - literally hours) early? Mind boggling to me considering they release on A SATURDAY ! ! ! Sundays are worthless sales days!!

And I know.......They have NO intentions of selling these on Sunday, due to the limited supply. SAD.

What does the Destination Scan mean on the last status?

I am in the same thing kinda... Clearwater is about an hour away from my local hub...

I am not in Dallas, but I live close...Fort Worth and I don't have an "out for delivery" yet, but I do have a 5:46 arrival scan and a 6:28 departure scan? :confused: I also got notification that my case and VGA adapter have shipped fed ex and will arrive Tuesday.

Check your tracking on iship.com. I show the same as you on UPS tracking, but on iship I am in transit to Bethlehem, soon I should be out for delivery, that usually happens around 8:00am on most of my packages.
 
Finally it's headed towards me. Just hope it's on UPS3948, which should land in one hour. What a LONG week this has been.

What does the Destination Scan mean on the last status?

It's usually the last status before "OUT FOR DELIVERY". Consider yourself lucky. I live in Clearwater, and my tracking still shows Louisville.
 
Yea, I'm just waiting. If I have to sit around and wait until 5pm then that's how it goes. I'd rather have my iPad today than have no iPad and a case.

Buy your BB case online and then have it as store pickup. Then you can just drop in and pick it it up anytime and want have to worry about missing either.;)

This is because the sorting facility in Columbus is 5 miles down the road in Obetz from Rickenbacker Airport, which UPS uses. So they scan it when it arrives at the airport and then again when it arrives at the sorting facility.

Well I wonder if they would drive it right up from Clearwater then... Hopefully it will go to Brooksville for me and then out to my house today.

Nothing on my tracking updated until this morning. Last night still said Korea for me like it did the whole time. I don't think UPS is really worried about the statuses being updated as there are so many for today.

Mine still needs to go to the local facility which is about 15 miles from Orlando and the out for delivery.... I'm starting to think I won't have mine until Monday. :rolleyes: The really odd thing is it still doesn't show a scheduled delivery date...

You are in a better position than I am. My distribution center is 2 hours away from where my package is now =(.
 
You know.... I **REALLY** didn't want to wake up and go through this crap. Sure enough... I wake up this morning after spending ALL FLIPPIN WEEK in Louisville Kentucky to find that my iPad is STILL in Louisville Kentucky with an IMPORT SCAN.

MEANWHILE FedEx has managed to get my case, which shipped YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, on a delivery vehicle for my house literally in less than 24 hours.



TECHDUDE!!!!! Please! You are my only hope.....
 
The only iPad cases Best Buy has online right now are the Incase ones (Neoprene Sleeve, Nylon Sleeve, and Jacket) and they aren't in stock yet. I'm hoping that changes at 10.

It's not uncommon for a package to leave the local area around 9:00AM though. Typically in the past that is what happened with my Saturday deliveries.

Ok here is the latest: my ipad left Charlotte at 7:56 which could mean it's on it's way to the destination facility to be delivered or to sit there till Monday. If it's the latter, I may go see if I can just pick it up.
 
My guess is my iPad will get to my local distribution center around 10am. Does that mean I am SOL for a Saturday delivery?
