I hear a truck it must be UPS.....its only a Waste Management truck, I've seen at least 5 of them pass by. Why are they tempting me?

iPAD HAS ARRIVED

Yeah, I was just up there yesterday @ the Anderson Township Kroger. :D

Keep me informed. If I get mine, i'll let you know. Still showing destination scan, no out for delivery.

Just signed for it - still in the box... Unwrapping after I send this.

Good luck everyone!

Anyone know what the actual policy is on that for an online order ?. Is it a difficult process to return it when theoretically there isn't anything wrong with it ?
No. Apple have a no questions asked return policy. As long as you don't open it, you won't be liable for a restocking fee either.

The way UPS delivery routes work it's actually more advantageous to live further away from the hub because the drivers hit the most remote locations first and drop off shipments for addresses closest to the hub on the way back. I wish UPS would let me just go and pick the damn thing up but it's closed for pickups on Saturday :(

Thank you to everyone who kept me busy with this thread, -tear- I would have NEVER made it through the week without you guys, especially TechDude16, GeekLawyer, and MuhT. :D Enjoy your iPads everyone, even though I'm not leaving... Yet.

You still can't pick it up as it requires a signature which means first delivery must be attempted.

I may get flamed but

Let me preface this comment by saying I've converted many people from Windows to Mac. Even though my tracking is a little off but I expect my delivery to be made today. Not an Apple hater here.

With that said I think Apple has gone a little over the top with the deliveries. To me it lacks class. I have had many deliveries from UPS, time and time again I can always depend on the tracking. Even though this particular shipment is huge for us, the volume is a drop in the bucket for UPS. It's one thing to build up anticipation, it's quite another with this atypical tracking situation. I've read many posts here of people upset thinking they won't get delivery because of the tracking information. I fault Apple on this one, not UPS.

In addition, to put things in perspective, although revolutionary and really cool, this is an Ipad and not your new liver or heart. If for some reason it doesn't arrive today it's a trivial disruption in the grand scheme of things.

If it's a huge problem for you, why not go and buy one from the Apple Store today and then return the one you'll receive on Monday? :)

That's why I like Fed Ex, they do it the other way, and I live close to the Airport. Lol

Why does my package only say it's departed Newark? It's coming to me in Manhattan only a few miles away...shouldn't it just be out for delivery? Is it really going to go to some Manhattan sort facility first - it only left Newark at 7am...so how long are you going to make me wait UPS!!!!?????

It doesn't matter...

I tried the same thing, my hub is open on Saturday. They have to make the first-attempt delivery before they'll allow you to pick it up from the hub. Sorry.

How is it any of their fault as long as you get your stuff? It's both of the companies' fault for not communicating detailed up to date information but as long as they kept up their end of the deal, it's nothing to get upset about.

Most people who got upset are due to the miscommunication on all parties. It happens, even to the most experienced.
