Im a college student here in Alfred, NY.

Oh well.... I had high hopes that I could get it on Sat. I guess not anymore. I will just have to wait 'til monday to get mine... :(

I just wonder why Apple decided to launch a product on a saturday.....

I guess this is where our iPads will part company. Mine also arrived in Louisville early this morning. Next stop: Jacksonville, FL. The odd local exception entry fell off my tracking status, too.

In speaking to a contact at UPS today, they said all are slated to deliver Saturday by END OF DAY...they wont give a more specific time, but that their day is from 7am-7pm...they will have extra drivers on to compensate for this flux of deliveries.
 
I do live in a rural area but A) Ive received Saturday delivery packages before from both FedEx and UPS and B) I have faith in Apple that they wouldnt have done a Saturday release without thinking about people who may not get Saturday delivery.

So Im hoping, with finger crossed, that this is just a weird exception to hold it up. Ive seen reports of their UPS showing its coming from China then the next morning they wake up and its been changed to show its coming from Kentucky. Im in Virginia so we'll see what happens. I plan on giving Apple a call on my lunch break. Ill update then.

I'm the same boat. Over 24 hours since the last change in shipping status. I'm not too concerned as it's only Wednesday. I'm sure they'll get caught up getting these iPads out of China in time for Saturday delivery.

Apple officially took my money.. Alas my iPad is still sitting in Podunk China. Hopefully it's on the next flight out of GUANGZHOU. Even though UPS tracking still shows it in Shenzhen. It has also been 24 hours without movement. Just the exceptions at Louisville and in my local depot.
 
I had an origin scan in shenzhen at 5am central time yesterday, and as of now still no billing information received. UPS can't even tell me where the package is going until they receive that info. Since it's been almost 28 hours since the origin scan w/ no billing info does anyone think I should be worried?

No, mine is the same. Realize they can get your iPad from China to your door in less than 2 days.

I wouldnt worry...it will take a while for UPS ancient systems (probably using Dell or worse HP) to get caught up with all the transactions they have running through them right now...it has to be a nightmare..

Now that Apple has a huge retail network, I imagine they might do more Saturday releases so that people are actually available to go shopping. Especially for consumer stuff. If you choose to wait for them to bring it to you, I'm sure they make every effort, but if Saturday delivery isn't available there isn't exactly much they can do.

That said, your situation does seem weird since you say you've received Saturday deliveries in the past. I'm still not sure the message you're seeing from UPS necessarily refers to Saturday delivery. Maybe you could call UPS and ask what's up?
