iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

Same for me too. It appears a lot of us are at the same status.

Well good morning all! I will provide my insight yet again. However I am on my iPhone so mind any typos.

As of this morning my shipment FINALLY was updated in the ups system, and says they have had my billing info since 4:30 am Hong Kong time (4:30 pm last night here).

NOW UPS's site says that using WorldEase Express international, and so long as Apple gave them our packages before 7 am this morning (which if you have an origin scan - UPS HAS IT!) then delivery would be on Saturday by 12 PM local time (in my area, Rochester NY).

So everyones packages should be on the way. Realize, however that it took 12 hours for my billing info to become live - so yours may not show up for a while. Also realize that UPS depot agents run on servers SEPERATE from our tracking ones meaning they have the infowhile on our end itmay not update yet.

Now also realize that your shipment will probably not show"Departure Scan" from China until it is well over the Atlantic or when UPS scans that planes manifest in preparation for it's arrival.

WITH THAT IN MIND! There are two flights that left about 1:30 hours ago. They are UPS63 (out of Hong Kong at 7:11 AM local) and UPS71 (out of Guangzhou at 8:22 AM local).

Also realize a later flight out of Hong Kong may be out later today.

But note this - Apple has our packages on the way, even if UPS servers can't keep up with the load of this many people refreshing and tracking.

Plus have you seen all of the references on these things?! I have like 10 different reference numbers lol.

So guys I am going to try to keep you all updated - I am actually going to a funeral right now, one for my recently deceased aunt. So I may not be back on until later around 2 PM. At that point I will be home to continue providing support and answer questions along with sharing the excitement with you all.

P. S. Those packages going out today may not had the brokerage and hold statuses on them - if that was Apples way of holding them. As my package is shipping Express and with their site it does say delivery on saturday (but my status doesn't have a date) so it may just go direct and have no hold at my local facility - YAY NO PEOPLE MAN HANDLING OUR PACKAGES IN THE BACK WAREHOUSE!!!
 
mine is in louisville, KY and i Live in Louisville, KY...so now its just a waiting game

although im going to attempt to go buy a 32 gb at best buy sat morning and just return my 16gb to the store

Yea everyones should be out today - as today's pickup in China is the last one for guaranteed Saturday delivery. Everyone is good to go for magic day :)
 
Mine is in my hometown of Fort Worth, Texas with the dreaded status of "in transit," where it is destined to remain with no additional tracking updates until it arrives sometime on nail-biting Saturday.

Has anyone received shipping information for any of their accessories? I ordered the VGA connection and the Ipad case and neither of those have shipped yet. Junecloud reports that they will ship "by April 3."

Do you live in a dorm by any chance? UPS and FedEx usually know if universities are accepting packages over the weekend and send their trucks out accordingly.
 
Billing information

Does anyone know exactly what is actually meant by the term 'BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED' on the tracking status?
 
All sorts of weirdness going on with my iPad...went from Shenzhen to Guangzhou and has been stuck there over 24 hours...and then just today it updated to say the billing information was received...does that mean it can finally leave china behind? And what is an export scan...I don't see anyone else who has one?

Oh really? My case which I ordered the 12th says "Ships on April 15 delivered by April 20th" but I upgraded the shipping by calling back so it will come faster. That is on the same order for my 3G 32 GB iPad. The ing coming now is a 16 wifi for my mom :p
 
My iPad's tracking hasn't really been physically updated since yesterday morning, I'm still showing only 3 Origin Scans, one on Shenzen on 3/29 and the other 2 in Guangzhou on 3/30. All the "UPS Internal Activity" has shown then dropped off, the most recent being internal activity at the local hub in here in Boston.

Yesterday, about 4:30EST it showed the "Brokerage released shipment" blah blah, then that disappeared too.

It also signifies ALL of the identity information of your package has been received and processed by UPS. This means that all reference numbers, weights, and destination information has been tendered eith the customs documents to UPS by apple.

Yep, that's where I am too. Origin scan in Guangzhou, yesterday. I'm assuming you and I are looking at probably the same overall shipment/pallet, etc. Here's to hoping these get airborne for the US today.
