UPS71 and UPS63 are planes, right? Sorry.

Yes haha. Look at my links before this post to track them :)
I don't even have an origin scan :(

Really? Do you have anything as your status?
Hopefully on one of those two flights! Mine can't seem to make it out of Louisville.
Yea. Like I said before (and I know this as a fact) your package may be in your local city... it is unlikely if there is no departure scan. But if there is one it most likely hasn't been scanned at your local facility.

If there is NOT a departure scan from KY then it most likely will take a flight out tonight.

Not that I'm worried about it getting here, but what does this mean:

GUANGZHOU, CN 03/31/2010 3:06 P.M. EXPORT SCAN

It's been stuck on that for a day or so.

Hijacking thread to hopefully ask a no flame worthy question.

Has anyone seen a story outlining why Apple chose UPS over other carriers and how much UPS charges Apple per unit. I am just curious and think it would make an interesting business story. Probably top secret stuff

Clay

You'll get it before 9AM EST tomorrow.

yea, remember that in Hong Kong it is 3:51 AM on April 1st right now (12 hours AHEAD of EST).

So while we are sleeping, they will be making more iPads and shipping more out when it gets to mid-afternoon evening OVER THERE.

Hehe :D

Again, I love time zones xD

-NOTE: Your package may actually be shipped. Realize UPS is being bogged down and with so many similar shipments, they may not be producing the correct and updated information fast enough - so does Apple. So we will see :)

My order status hasn't been updated yet. I just took this now. EST.

it will eventually say this:

Location Date Local Time DescriptionWhat's This?
LOUISVILLE, KY, US 03/31/2010 1:36 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
ANCHORAGE, AK, US 03/30/2010 6:50 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
03/30/2010 1:01 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
GUANGZHOU, CN 03/30/2010 7:10 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
SHENZHEN, CN 03/29/2010 3:01 A.M. ORIGIN SCAN
CN 03/29/2010 11:12 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

Tracking results provided by UPS: 03/31/2010 3:52 P.M. ET

It's been stuck on that for a day or so.

It basically means that the package has had Customs Papers assigned to it and it being transported through the Export facility after screening.
With the times that I am seeing, your package may be on one of the UPS flights (63 or 71) that I discussed earlier.

Haha, my reflex reaction is "How dare he complain when he's already in the continental U.S." It really is all relative.

I think I am getting tracking fatigue. And eyestrain. I think I may buckle and do the in-store pickup next time, and forego my smugness about not standing in line at the mall on a Saturday. :)

I assumed it was probably on one of those flights. The status changed about 3 times last night, but then eventually settled on this one.

This is all I've gotten.

That's a good question. I'd like to see a legitimate/official answer to that :)

Gwynne, I think we're on the same flight outta China. UPS71, which touches down in...1 hour 26 minutes.

I think.

Wait, but my tracking info still says that it's in Shenzhen (Origin), could it still be on the flight? Or is it going to be in the next round of iPads?

This is all I've gotten.

oh, thats good - in terms of getting the shipping info.

It technically does not mean that UPS has it yet though...

Do you mind doing this on iship.com?

And also try calling 1-800-PICK-UPS and tell me exactly what the PC voice (I call her Lola :) ) says.

With that I can give you the best answer, but UPS may be late in updating if they have it or not. HOWEVER MY package had the billing info sent at 4:30 AM on the 31st (local), yet the origin scan was for the day before...

Either one.

UPS may be late in updating it. Some people said they didn't see the Guangzhou OR the departure scans until AFTER the Alaska ones showed up. Otherwise it may be on a later flight tomorrow morning (and it would still get here with a day to spare :D)

Seeing as when your billing info came through, my status must be WAY behind.

Well not necessarily... mine might be more behind than yours:

Oh and compared to yours, my ORIGIN SCAN was earlier than yours, yet my status still doesn't show the transit or export scans...

yet also remember that it took over 14 hours for my billing info to appear in my OR UPS's systems, so it was a blank package until earlier today...

Those status updates may be there for me, and maybe my manifest is just F'ed up in terms of updating. Which is quite possible

Mine says this, is something wrong?

3/29/2010 10:36:00 PM BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED CN
3/30/2010 12:45:00 AM ORIGIN SCAN SHENZHEN, CN
4/03/2010 12:45:00 AM OUT FOR DELIVERY

Obviously faked, the Cubs will never win the World Series.
