Is this just a time zone discrepancy?

well from what I heard, they were not a hoax. There were quite a few of them.

And it seems like a lot of people are backing it up with phone calls to UPS or Apple. I have to admit I am now watching my inbox with some trepidation.

That is probably an error, remnant of the old "in transit to" maybe.

It should say Louisville, KY. It may just have gotten screwed on their end. Trust me, its not going back :)

Yeah, i've been checking mine too, still nothing :D You would think they would have sent them all out by now too.

Even if it was a hoax, even better.

That's kind of a crappy way to do it. The email just seems like junk. Not even a "sorry about that" in there. Apple didn't do anything wrong IMO, but if that's real it just seems like they could be a little more polite or sympathetic to their customers.

The requirements are different for international deliveries than they are for domestic shipments.

It just depends on where you live.

I would call UPS, and if they say monday, say what you just said (above) and that Apple promised it by Saturday - and then see what they say.

or just ask them if you have international saturday delivery in your area.

Yup, look back over the last 6 or 8 pages and you'll see there's more than a few of us (myself included) with the same departure time out of Guangzhou.

Alright all,

I am off to play some games for a bit and eat a late dinner.

I will be back in a few hours, behave until then and if anyone has questions about those scans, you just point them to my post if you can't answer it lol (or if you dont want to type it all out xD)...

What is your location... I live on Maui (thing usually take longer to get here) and I'm hoping it gets here on time...

For those of you who received an email saying Saturday delivery isn't available, could you try this out? Go to the UPS website's Calculate Time and Cost page and try calculating the cost for a shipment that goes out tomorrow (Friday) to your ZIP code. Doing this should give you options like next day, ground, etc. When I did this with my ZIP code, the next day option said the package would be delivered Saturday, leading me to believe that Saturday delivery is available in my ZIP code (I didn't receive an email yet stating it isn't).

Here's the link:
https://wwwapps.ups.com/ctc/request?loc=en_US&WT.svl=SubNav

I just tried this out of idle curiosity. I can't tell what the heck is up with my UPS update, it looked like my package was still sitting in Guangzhou.

Anyway I entered my zip and originating in Kentucky and got a ton of results. Two options showed a Saturday delivery, with this breakdown on the cheaper one:

UPS Next Day Air® 55.70 USD
Saturday Delivery 15.00 USD
Fuel Surcharge 5.30 USD
Charges Per Package 76.00 USD

So this seemed to imply Saturday delivery was possible in my zone, and even tells how much extra it would be, but the base cost seems pretty horrendous. Don't know what kind of deal Apple has with UPS but wow.

What is this about the tweet from @TUAW saying if you don't have Sat you can call Apple and they can change to a place with Sat delivery?
