Maybe I'll jump up to the 16 Pro Max for the full disorienting experience.
Love my 13 Mini but it is getting really slow, especially after taking a photo. And I miss the zoom lens a lot.

If any 13 mini users are holding on to them because they were apprehensive/didn't like the larger 'Pro' size...

Worry not.

I was in the same boat. I always bought the smallest iPhone. I was fine with most of the earlier iPhones, but was most comfortable with the 12 mini and 13 mini. The 'Pro' phones always felt too big and heavy and bulky.

I thought I'd try the 15 Pro for a change, and it's been great. Honestly the adjustment hasn't been an issue at all - this is mainly due to how light the 15 Pro is compared to previous 'Pro' phones. Yes it's still a little heavier that the mini but I promise you'll get used to it. The 14 Pro was too heavy for me, but the 15 Pro is just right.

So if you're sat on the fence, go for it.

I will keep using my 13 mini until it gets too slow. I had an iPhone 8 before that had become too slow to uses (not sure why exactly, an iPhone 7 with same iOS version but less apps was running ok).

If they‘d release an iPhone 18 mini, I would probably buy this one or two years after release - depending on the performance of my 13 mini then.

If they never release a small iPhone again, I might go back to android or something else - need to see which options exist then.

Sigh, my future first choice too and inevitable. Presently with a 6S (94% battery), a 12Mini @ (81%) and a 13Mini @ (82%).

I upgraded my iPhone 12 mini to 13 mini in order to be able to keep using it as long as possible.

Reachability one handed is a gimmick on anything bigger and then there is the bulk in your pocket…

I once had an iPhone X and in the now almost 15 years of having iPhones I broke my first ever screen after a few months on a wooden floor. I blame it on the ridiculous screen-to-thickness ratio.

I still hope Apple goes like “kaboom smaller iPhone 16/17, because people do actually need it”. Otherwise I keep using my mini till it dies and maybe give in to a 15 pro…

Only things I mis now are a macro camera for my electronics work and USB-C for my heat camera. Battery life is still ok most of the time. On longer trips I use a small MagSafe battery.
There won’t be an iPhone 16 Mini. Likely also no iPhone 17 Mini. If there was, we‘d already know… So personally, I am hoping for iPhone 18 Mini (2026), but I might be equally disappointed 🤣

My battery is at 77% and it was purchased in April of 2022.

I’d like to keep this phone and just replace the battery but I am growing tired of Lightning and the inconsistent connection with the charger. Each time I have to very delicately position the charger within the port to ensure connection then gently let go so as not to disconnect it.

If a new port at the time of battery replacement would fix this… then I’m all in for several more years as I have my iPad Mini 6 for tasks requiring a larger screen.
Try to clean the port with a toothpick.

I don’t think 15 pro is a suitable replacement still being 6.1” even if titanium materials made the phone considerably lighter but ummv i supoose

Is anyone gonna miss a superior camera moving down to 13 mini?

I love my mini.

I'll keep using it until there's something that entices me to switch, currently nothing in the iphone lineup is really calling to me so unless this thing dies i'm keeping it for now.

Good camera, good size, good enough battery life and it has magsafe for the battery pack if i am out and about and need more. Unlike a larger phone i can opt to have the extra battery OR a smaller lighter device as needs dictate.

It is still plenty fast enough and likely will be for some time, same CPU as the current ipad mini so...

I went for it and the 15 went back. Too big.

Surprised how close 13 mini is to se1. Yes it’s bigger and yes it’s nearly all screen with minimal bezels next to the old style but in hand just feels spectacular

Wild to me a phone like that exists even being discontinued while supporting latest iOS

I also don’t have issues with laggyness on my 13 mini. I‘m on iOS 17.6.1

How is 17.6.1 battery life compared to 17.5.1?

Er, no. Weight isn’t the issue for us, size is. Keeping the 13minis we have for as long as we can.

My battery is 92% and I have used my 13.mini heavily for almost two years. Screentime says 5:50 per day last week, and I was at a beach resort! Yesterday, 8:41 …

My household has six active devices with a Lightning port and the only issues I have had have been when using non-Apple cables. I also have found that using a wooden toothpick to clean a troublesome port works fantastically. YMMV.

If the AW Ultra didn't require iPhone 8 or later, I'd have switched to my SE 1 instead of buying the mini 13.

I use my SE1 for an additional phone number and it just sits around with its lousy battery waiting for calls. Still a GREAT form factor, albeit with a dim screen and dated camera.

A 17.Air with a similar form factor—and a modern screen and single lens camera—would be a win for me!

Which iPhone 16 are ya guys getting that will be also keeping your 13 mini?

Or are you not?

I think the screen sizes are slightly supposed to boost right ? From 6.1 to 6.3 and 6.5 to 6.7 or something like that

I have just changed to a new battery...
Could you say more please? Did you do this yourself? Apple replacement? local repair shop? Costs? I've never owned a battery-operated device long enough to worry about battery replacement. That said, given that Apple now disdains the smaller form-factors of the iPhone13mini, battery replacement will become a need at some point.

Love my 13 mini and don’t want anything bigger and/or heavier. Bought an OGSE a few months back to use with a private number when I go for a run or Sunday walk with the kids. Whenever I come home, I am surprised again by the large size and heavy weight of the 13 mini. Would love an OGSE with modern hardware.

The regular phones (13, 14 non-Pro) feel gigantic compared to those two. Not a fan!

I have replaced iPhone batteries myself but prefer to have Apple do it. The one time that Apple could not unstick the battery, I received a refurbished iPhone in its place.

Years ago when I bought a 6S, I mentioned to the Apple employee that I had replaced batteries on the 5 series myself, but they had all swollen. On the down low he said, “They all do that, but ours do it less.”

When my wife goes to the USA to visit her kids, she takes one or two iPhones with tired batteries, drops them off, and picks them up before she returns. I make the appointments online beforehand with a note saying that she’s on a visit from abroad and needs it done quickly, and it’s never been a problem.

I also like the OGSE (Original Gangsta SE, aka iPhone 5S?) size and form factor! We recently gave our last one to a friend because it only had 16gig of memory and was rather useless with iCloud syncing photos, etc.

Maybe I’m just old but I think that the 5S and 6S are the iconic iPhones. And the 9th Gen iPad, too.
