What are your charging habits? Overnight on a wireless charger or another way?
No particular charging routine.

Never charge overnight. I plug in when battery is at around 20%. Charge sometimes upto 100% but usually to around 80%. Charging using MagSafe for about 60% of the time and the rest wired using 20w power adapter from Apple.

Still holding at 99% with 171 cycles

I charge using a low power 5w brick overnight and 80% limit. My 15PM has only been on wireless charger maybe like 3-4 times since I got it…. And on a higher power fast charger maybe like 6-7 times. So the battery has been babied

Always use 80% charging optimization wired charging never overnight.

Low cycle count is mainly because I have my iPad in front of me all day.

It JUST dropped to 99%. I checked it like 2 days ago and it was 100%. Dangit, my phone's getting old and almost needs replacement now.

All joking aside, this has been without a doubt the best battery I have ever experienced, by a LONG shot. The 12 Pro was decent (when new) but this is a whole 'nother level. I've always had to charge mid day on all my previous phones and they would also all be around 95% health by now, at 6-7 months old.

Also should add that I use nothing but 20W bricks and OEM braided 1m cables. I plug into my truck for CarPlay and I drive 25K miles a year so my phone gets plenty of time on the charger. I think this goes to show that there is 0 harm in being plugged in or using the 20W regularly.

If you have the limit at 80% why do you care about charging overnight? Shouldn't make any diff.

I know it doesn’t make a difference, and I am not concerned about overnight charging. It’s included as a comparison to others who included the same information. Why are you making incorrect assumptions about what people post?

Bud I just asked why you’re not leaving it plugged in overnight. No assumptions there.

Do you have all system services including significant locations turned on under Privacy and security > Location Services > System Services?

It would be interesting to know if it’s making a difference & how many people using the 80% charge limit have seen their battery health falling?

I’ve been using it but my 15 Pro is only 7 weeks old.

31 cycles and 100% BH.

100% @ 44 cycles... got it in Jan. on MagSafe all night and I don't cripple it by limiting to 80%. I don't get limiting to 80% to stop battery health dropping to 80%. I have better things to do than fret about keeping it in a specific range...

Since the day of the launch 15Pro This year very well, much better than the 14 Pro, very happy. Optimized charging and every night with Anker's Magsafe.

Apple added the 80% limit for a reason and is suppose to slow down battery degradation, and you don’t need to fret as iOS caps the charge at 80% without you having to watch it 😁

Interested to see if it’s actually helping or not and is a waste of time.

I’m impressed with this so far. View attachment 2366049

Nice. How have you managed to keep such a low cycle count after 7 months?

From looking at the people who use the 80% cap and comparing to myself (I don’t), it doesn’t seem to make any difference. And I charge a whole lot, so if anybody is wearing out their battery extra fast from charging beyond 80, it would be me. No issues thus far.

To me, doing much of anything to preserve the battery health is a waste of time. Of course this could vary by country, not everybody has easy access to Apple stores where they can get a battery swapped. But for those who have an Apple Store available, just use the phone however is convenient and get the battery changed after 2 years or so. It’s super inexpensive compared to the phone. I see no reason to limit charging or use a painfully slow charger or any other things people to do themselves to try and make the battery last a bit longer. It’s going to wear out either way, and it’s not going to wear out that much faster by just using it. Therefore I see no reason to use the 80% cap. Especially since so far, it isn’t seeming to help people along with battery health more than anyone else, based on this thread.

I have used the 80% cycle since release. By the end of my day it is down to about 40%. I have used MagSafe about 90% of the time. I have a Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 it goes on every nite. I think the batteries in the iPhone are random luck.
