I asked the good folks at Torras about the thickness of their screen protector https://amzn.to/3ETHkfo, which I ordered and since applied to my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

It took 3 attempted answers from them before a reasonable one was sent today.

The first one was 1/2 inch thick, BTW.
Second was 0.24 inches
Today, finally 0.024 inches.

(oh, our school system....)

Up until the iPhone 7 I’ve used zagg they were the top brand. Now I’ve been using the spigen. Just easy to install. People like the Torres diamond shield over the spigen?

Yes, because the Torres is even easier to install and installs without any dust getting underneath.

I did too, but the Torras installer without having to remove the protection film manually, is even more secure.
The Spigen requires us to remove the film, and with it exposing it to dusty air, mayor may not work all the time.

This said, I do like the slight black edge of the Torras this year, as it blends perfectly with the iPhone 15 Pro Max border.

Same here. I like the black border for the screen protectors, it just gives it a nice clean look. I’m using iPhone 11 with that and it blends in seamlessly and you can’t even tell there’s a screen protector.

I went with Torras, ordered it on Amazon. Now just waiting on my case and hopefully I snag 15 PM this week

Has anyone reached out to ESR about the border issue? Started noticing it a bit more even with a second application that is spot on.
I reached out to ESR about the border covering part of the edge of the display and they said the following…

“Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear that the black edge of the screen protector did not meet your expectations.

We want to clarify that the screen protectors designed for iPhone 15 come with a thicker black border to fit the curved edges, prevent warping, and improve adhesion. Due to this design, there may be a 0.6-0.7mm occlusion, but it will not affect the regular use of your phone.

We appreciate your feedback, and we're glad to inform you that our design team has taken note of your concerns and is working towards improving the product to address this issue.”

I find it to be them covering their *** but the only thing they offered was a 40% return on my purchase.

It can't be helped. That's just dust attracted by static to the edges of the screen protector. If you wipe it with a damp or Zeiss lens cloth, they should go away. But as soon as we go outside, the dust will return.

They do not seem to be under the screen protector in my view.
You also have an extreme macro shot. Unless you be blessed with 20/10 or 20/5 vision, normal use with the screen on should not trouble you, no?

I applied the Torras protector yesterday, been out a few time in windy rainy city.
I see nothing with naked eye. But if I used flash, or 1:1 macro blown up on a display, you'll always see dust.

Nope no problems here. Best screen protector (and installation tray) that I have ever used. As per the other poster, dust will accumulate around the sides of the protector, but not sure much can be done about that.
I’m actually not talking about the dust on the edges, that doesn’t bother me because I know it’s just how dust works. I made the circle smaller to show what I’m talking about. There are tiny specs under the protector.

oh, i see them.

If you see more in the next few days, then we have a leak problem indeed.
Maybe the lighting did not reveal them after the installation?

I havent looked at my installation under super bright lights or the sun. In normal conditions it’s the best screen protector application that I have ever done (and easiest). Is there dust somewhere under the screen, maybe? Is it visible during normal use, no.

I saw them right after installation so I doubt it’s a leak problem. I might just try again in a month with hopefully a newer batch. I ordered several of these and they seemed to either all have this issue or not adhering on the sides.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. Good luck next time. I used those 4 film protectors in a pack for years, they seemed to be less prone to factory dust, but the clarity and feel is nowhere as good as glass.

So observing the Spigen GlasTR EZ fit screen protector for the 14 pro and for the 15 pro it seems they designed them differently, and granted this isn’t exactly scientific lol.

I don’t know if they added the groove to make it easier to remove or what but I like the 14 pro version better.

Wow really? I didn’t think the spigen could get any easier, press swipe and lift lol so the Torres diamond is the model?

Thanks to ya'll for recommending the Torras. It worked out b/c the line at Apple Store was so long I had to time to ask them to do the screen protector anyways.

Application was easy as heck although after I did it i saw what was a dreaded dust piece. It looked like it was on top of the screen but wouldnt come off. So I took the thing off and quickly put the sticker the iphone came with back on the new phone.
But the dust particle wouldnt come off the bottom. It was some defect white mark just stuck on the glass lol.
Anyone have experience w/ Torras replacing something like this? For the price Id like to have my extra one still.

That said the second one went on flawlessly.

The one thing I notice is that the flolab doesn't have the black border around the edges. I don't think it's quite edge to edge. Correct?

How does the Torras fair with cases? Using a Caudabe Sheath and was wondering if it would interfere.
The Torras works perfectly with my Caudabe Sheath. The lip of the case almost meets the edge of the screen protector so you ca. barely feel the edge of it when you swipe. No danger of lifting the glass when you insert and remove the case.

Darn you all. I was living in blissful ignorance with my ESR, but now I can't unsee the edge issue. So Torras Diamond Shield is the consensus here for best?
Me toooooo....saw the video and now can't resist. Used one ESR and looks like they are giving 40% refund only; I guess best to just keep as an extra at this point and buy the Torras? Sigh.

Reply from the ESR Customer Support team for the 15 Pro series screen protector black border issue.
I feel like I'm high trying to read that lol. So, they have offered 40%, 50% and a full refund? Wonder if they are changing this as more complaints come in.

I just received the UltraGlass (the Torras lookalike not Belkin) to replace the ESR Armorite. The ESR does not center correctly using the install frame.
While I had both out I measured them. They are exactly the same size (72.5mm). The ESR looks like it might have a very slightly bigger black border but not by much.

I bought the Torras Diamond shield and found that the edges were very sharp. Can you tell me if the UltraGlass has beveled edges? I am not using a case, so the sharp edges on the Torras is a deal breaker. Thanks!

Hey there, sorry about the late reply, been busy all weekend and Monday was busy at work.

The edges are not sharp. The finishing is very smooth that I can barely feel them.
There is barely enough room on the edges so that if you do use a case that the screen protector won’t touch it.

Vast majority of people use a case with their phones. So it would be a bad decision for a smaller company to offer a case that doesn’t leave any room on the edges for a case.

Hi, which protector is this one? Thanks
My company's screen protector (given to us for testing the user experience). It's smaller than the screen of the iPhone. This photo may look more clearly.

Just ordered the Torres.
My Spigen is slightly over to the left a little, has the glowing edges in daylight. Plus today I lifted the bottom a little to check a small scratch that isn't on the protector surface and was a little concerned it was on the phone screen. Nope it's on the inside of the protector. Of course I had the fun of minute specks getting in from lifting up, so took a fair while to use stickers until clear again.

Looks like Torres is taking the crown this year.

I'm insanely picky about screen protector installs, but this looks great! I'll have to try this brand next time. I usually get my tried and true 3 pack of JETech, but last year I got the more premium Belkin brand from Apple and was REALLY impressed with the quality and feel. Pretty much forgot it was there. The only thing I disliked about it was that the included lineup tool installed the protector slightly off center. Not super noticeable, but annoying for such an expensive item.

This year, to be perfectly honest, I forgot about the Belkin one even existing and by force of habit ordered the JETechs again. (After one installs screen protectors on phones year after year after year, one tends to forget these things. Comes with age.) I was pleasantly surprised to find that they now come with a guide and that it's very loose fitting but somehow dead on accurate. I have never installed a protector more perfectly than I did this year. I'm giving myself an A- for that tiny piece of lint on the edge, but otherwise it's perfect.

The reason I'm commenting is that I would love if my JETechs (and all my other ones I've owned) would go just this little bit more out to the edges so that gunk wouldn't build up. I'm definitely going to look at this brand for whatever my next iPhone is. Luckily my case makes it so I don't feel the edge on the JETech when swiping up from the bottom.
