The iPhone 16 should be made more climate-friendly, otherwise Mother Nature will come and hit Timmy on his fingers
The plans for locally collected, strictly vegan, composted materials have been put in place. The project's code name is Chewy Pretzel. The initial research into this material indicates that it's going to attract bees, which is allegedly Apple's secret plan to restore the bee populations around the world.

Obviously, this will lead to dramatically lower sales and Apple stores turning into giant, urban bee hives, which is part of another even more secretive plan code-named "No Bee Left Behind" to turn Apple into the largest honey-producing company the world has ever seen.

Feels like a pretty lame update for the Pro models. Essentially a little taller. You aren't going to notice a less than 1mm increase in width.

The non-Pro models are going to be a complete bore. They won't be interesting until they get LTPO displays in 2017.

MacRumors has obtained preliminary information on the weights and dimensions planned for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The information corroborates previous reports suggesting that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will feature larger displays.

iPhone 16 and 16 Plus

Current information suggests that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will maintain the same dimensions as the current iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, with the only difference being an increase in weight of around 2 grams for both models – 173g for the iPhone 16, and 203g for iPhone 16 Plus. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be available in the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes as their predecessors.

Regardless of the dimensions, however, the base model iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are expected to feature a redesigned camera bump, with a vertical camera arrangement similar to the iPhone 12. They are also likely to include a capacitive Action button and potentially even an all-new capacitive "Capture Button."

In terms of materials, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus should use the same type of aluminum found on the iPhone 15 chassis, and will also feature matte back glass. The choice of materials is unlikely to have any significant impact on the weight of the devices, with the increase being a consequence of minor design changes.

iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature an increase in display size compared to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, measuring roughly 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. To be more precise, the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.27-inch display (159.31 mm), while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a 6.85-inch (174.06 mm) panel.

This represents a noticeable increase of 0.2 inches for both models. As a result, the dimensions of the device as a whole will increase. The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will be slightly taller than their predecessors, while also being somewhat wider. Interestingly, the width of both devices appears to align with their respective iPhone 14-series counterparts, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

As far as materials are concerned, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to maintain the same Grade 5 Titanium used on the iPhone 15 Pro, with the same brushed finish and curved design. Similar to the base model iPhone 16, the iPhone 16 Pro is also expected to feature a slightly larger Action Button, and an entirely new capacitive "Capture Button."

It's worth emphasizing that the information presented here is remarkably early. The iPhone 16 lineup is almost a whole year away, and the design is far from being finalized. While changes throughout development are always possible, significant deviations from the dimensions and weights we've listed are unlikely, and the information we've provided represents our best insight into the overall size of the iPhone 16 lineup.

If it looks the same it’s an instant no. Apple, we’re tired of buying the same looking phone. Innovate. PLEASE.

iPhone 15 isn’t even done rolling out and we’re already seeing articles about 16? Yes I get it that technology continuously advances, but how about we take time to enjoy what we have now for a while before looking forward to the next model year? Isn’t speculation on what is a year away a little early?

Um, maybe don't go to a website with "rumors" in the name if it matters that much to you. If they didn't post these kinds of things they wouldn't be doing their job.

I am so stocked bring on the iphone 16 ultra, its time to update my aging 12 pro max relic.

However I am not sure, if I am able to embrace the colour choices, the dynamic island, and titanium frame, which seems to age not very well.

Maybe the 16’s slight increase in weight, might resolve the 15’s heating issues.

Anyone else slightly confused at the very modest increases in weight for the Pro models? I really have a hard time believing that the Pro Max is going to have a noticeably larger display and only increase in weight by 4g? That's almost nothing.

I really hope this doesn't come at the expense of battery life. I REALLY want great battery life (from a big battery, not "efficiency" that never lasts longer than a couple months) on the 16 Pro Max.

I DO appreciate the weight savings the 15 Pro/Max brings, but battery life is more important. I can use my 240g 13 Pro Max just fine so getting a little closer to that (but with the weight going to battery life instead of stainless steel) would be fine by me.

Maybe the rumored stacked battery tech is allowing this weight savings?

I just hope the Pro and Pro Max have the same features and tech so I can get the smaller one, which is still too big. I wouldn’t mind a focus on increasing battery life, but apparently I’m virtually alone on that one.

Thats completely incorrect. Apple would absolutely know the actual design by now. In fact that would be working on the re-tooling design. Manufacturing is only 8 months away. The design is finalised.

Good to hear that the capacitive buttons will be featured on all models. Interesting to hear about changes to the camera layout for the non Pro models.
