Everyone seems to be liking the silicone this year (I’m sure the button situation helps) - may have to pick one up. Do they not pick up grease and lint very badly? Like, the material that would pull the pocket inside out…

Or, have they improved the design over the years enough to be of quality?
In my opinion it’s better than in years past.

How do you guys feel about the Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear over time? This the first time I really running a clear case for the iPhone and it’s not so bad. Button works flawlessly and I actually enjoy seeing the white on the back.

I never have great thoughts about its longevity of yellowing but I’m going to keep using it right now.
Spigens eventually yellow, but I usually get them at a good price, so I'm willing to replace them after a year. They've done a great job of protecting my phones; no complaints from me.

My history matches yours! I’m not as thrilled with the silicone, but I don’t mind it. It still feels a bit slippery but I’ve been dropping things lately regardless, so I just received the Native Union wrist strap. https://www.nativeunion.com/products/city-grip. I did get mine thru Amazon (hard to beat accurate shipping and easy returns). They have a sling version too.
The design seems really smart and I had no trouble plugging in the charging card with it on It also comes with a standard cord for threading thru lanyard holes if your case has those.
The cord is substantial, but very comfortable because of that, and almost spongy due to the way it’s woven.
So hopefully this will help me with the silicone.

Does the native union strap fit okay with the silicone Apple case? I bought a different brand (case-mate) and the little connecter part that goes through the charging port of the case will not work with the apple case so I had to send the strap back. Now I’m on the search for a brand that works with the silicone case without issue.

After a few days of using the ZAGG Santa Cruz, I can’t get over how annoying this case is. I use my left index finger to hold the case, above the action button. The fingers of my right hand, are holding the back of the case.

There’s no rubber above the action button, which makes it very annoying to hold. It it super sticky and the buttons, being molded in to the case, are hard to press.

Man, I was so spoiled with all those great metal buttons. I will return this case. Ordered two cases for delivery tomorrow:

The Limitless 6.0 in Navy Blue, hoping it is bot warped this time. I mean, I could have had a defective case.

The second one is from a brand I don’t know, Synchro Bands. Being it crazy horse leather, I’m expecting the same feel as the YMW’s. https://amzn.eu/d/2cUlHHi

One of those two will be returned tomorrow. The other case I will buy, is the Caudabe Synthesis. Not sure if I will buy it from the shop in the Netherlands or from Caudabe. But the price difference is a whopping 15 EUR in favor of the Dutch shop. So we’ll see.

Well, people have been quite specific about things that bugged them previously about the silicone case but appear to have been remedied by Apple this time around. Have my first ever Apple silicone coming tomorrow but leaning quite heavily toward the Torras Ostand as my pre-leather temp.

Whoever mentioned the Torras 360 case - thank you! I'd not seen this one previously or at least maybe glanced over it as I thought it was a case with those finger ring things attached. Looked at the grey and immediately loved the look of it for my white Pro Max.

This will be my 3rd case I've ordered so sent the other 2 back to Amazon as I wasn't a fan and just wanted protection ready on the day I receive the phone. The other 2 were a Caseology clear case and an Jetech white case which arrived with dirty marks all over it.

I also agree with those about the Beats case - they look perfect for what I was looking for but then I saw the open bottom and thought 'WHY!?'. Instant deal breaker for me! Otherwise I would have got one!

Still eyeing up the green Otterbox Lumen case though but I'll wait until it's on Amazon and see how I get on with the Torras 360 :)
I also owe them a big thanks! Just gave this a chance after seeing it here and over on Flossy Carter's video. So far liking it more than the Apple clear and the ESR Pro Case.

I will for sure. Luckily it doesn’t seem like the Torras ones cutoff too much, but we will see. I really wanted to like these ESR ones since the installation was super easy, but the rainbows drive me up the wall.
What rainbows? I just got a 3 pack of the ESRs with the Applesque pull style tray and the installation went well (no dust) and I’m not seeing any rainbows anywhere?

Likewise. I seriously think there are some bad batches out there.

at certain angles / light imo on any edge of any glass screen protector a rainbow effect is possible. unless the glass has a black border. i have seen it on spigen, esr, flolab and amfilm. for me i just ignore it. i’d rather know i won’t scratch my screen.

Pitaka MagEZ

Case feels so premium. Perfect for that slim profile feel with protection and grip. Cutouts are nice and black phone blends right in.

I was thinking on trying the Benks but quite pleased with this one.

MagSafe is good in my opinion.

The lay on the table protection is barely there. There’s a lip but barely there. With a screen protector that lip is gone. This case is definitely not intended for heavy protection so if that’s needed I wouldn’t recommend this case.

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this has already been discussed...I really liked this PC+TPU Otterbox case in the Apple Store but wanted something that is fully clear, with maybe a white or gold magsafe ring. Ideally with a button for Camera Control instead of a cutout. Here's what I'm looking for:

- Clear Polycarbonate back
- Clear TPU side for better grip
- Magsafe
- No raised corner "lips" in the back..an example is the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. Otterbox doesn't seem to have this lip
- Camera Control button

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Those ultra thin Pitaka cases (and their knockoffs) prioritize minimalism over everything. I think of them more as a rigid skin than a case, and they provide about the equivalent amount of protection.
Exactly. They’re designed for an almost caseless feel for people who don’t want to feel the bulk or don’t feel like it’s needed. It’s a niche market but they are quite a lot people that look for something like that.

For me, the Pitaka is more about giving the phone more grip and not about protection. It’s for people that don’t want to add bulk and aren’t prone to the dropsies but want a bit more grip than the naked iPhone provides.

That makes a lot of sense. I wonder what the impact on case sales would be if iPhones came with grippy sides!

Been running the apple sili since Friday (didn't go crazy with cases just yet with the camera control cutout) and safe to say apple seems to have put a little more effort into the case this year. With dumping the trash woven, it seems they took the time to make some adjustments to their only case now. I don't consider their bar of soap clear case good at all...same every year. The sili seems not as sandy, but more smooth. Not as linty as I haven't seen dirt/lint built up at all. Fitment and grip seems improved as well.

I have my camera control button set to double click so no accidental pushes. It's real smooth.

Going to be a very light year for cases. My most used case last year ended up being the PR Flex. The new Flex and the Air are on the way. Have a Nomad Sport coming tomorrow (they altered the back and not smudgy/shiny) and a few Pitaka cases coming too...that'll be it for me.
Can’t wait to see your photos of the Sport. It’s been my main case for the 15PM.

Interesting how certain case designers think a lip isn't a critical form of screen protection.
Personally I prefer a very short lip which makes for easier swiping and typing. The sili from Apple and sport from Nomad have been the best at that.
