So has it been confirmed that the 1G iPhone doesn't receive MMS (we all know it can't send)?

The MMS seems to be working and stable.

I did have to call ATT, after installing beta 2, and ask that they switch my IPHONE TEXTING to STANDARD texting.

It took an hour for it to take effect, and voila! I have MMS. The only unfortunate thing is that all my friends have iPhones, so I haven't been able to really use it!

Im am currently trying to update my carrier settings (o2 UK) on a pc by holding down "shift" and clicking "check for updates" but i don't get a selection box come up just a box saying the latest version is up to date.

I have tried many times but no joy. Any ideas?

If ATT is your CARRIER, you need to CALL them and ask them to switch your IPHONE texting to STANDARD texting.

I kind of a got this working. I have orange france, and the apn for mms is orange.acte and for 3g is just orange. If I edit the data in Cellular Data Network to match orange.acte i can send and receive MMS but then i have no 3g, if i set it back to orange i can't use MMS. All help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hey I have the same problem here... I've already asked some help in this forum but no one seems to know how to put one apn for 3G, and a different one for MMS. I've tried to play with the carrier ipcc file and add a new dictionnary with the MMS apn, but only the first apn you enter will be used.
What I do is that I leave my apn to "orange", for internet usage, and whenever I want to send a MMS, I change it to "orange.acte". The problem with that, beside having to change it everytime, is that you won't be able to receive MMS if you are on 3G settings. I guess we will have to wait until they officially release the 3.0 update, I'm sure Orange and Apple will find a solution :)

If you still have to call AT&T and change your text plan with this version, why not just do that? I've read tons of posts about people just doing that and it working... rather than changing tons of different files and what-not...

I did that and still doesnt work. Not sure I want to try changing files.

I don't know about anyone else, but my MMS started working today.

I followed the walk through that was posted on Gizmondo on Tuesday and didn't have success.

This morning I was woken up to a picture message. :D

Reset your phone. See if it still works.

MMS and Tethering works...no voicemail tho

HI

I have 3.0 and Tethering and MMS work very well no complications, however my visual voicemail does not work at all, not even a glimpse any ideas anyone?

I updated my carrier settings (ipcc file works like a charm). All I did was put my blackberry sim card into my iphone and boom, my brother (verizon) has received 3 mms messages in a row. Just need to get a CS rep to swap the features i guess.

It's definitely possible right now. I better not catch any crap from AT&T tomorrow when I call about it.:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

My voicemail was broken after applying the file hosted on mediashare in this thread. I unzipped and changed this voicemail_context to 2 in carrier.plist to get voicemail working again. It was previously set to 1. Visual Voicemail now works.

I still haven't gotten ATT to enable my MMS though.

Can someone explain to me how this process is done? I'd much rather have mms than visual voicemail, but if I could just get this running smoothly, obviously, that would be optimal.

3 post in a row... i know i'm probably annoying.

Anyhow, I've been tinkering around on the mywireless page, trying to get around this (it's 1:40 am.... i doubt customer service would pick up) wap/push nonsense.

I have learned that if you simply go to the phone device tab and pick a different phone and give it about 15 minutes, the computer will give you the option to select the standard messaging packages instead of the iphone messaging plans. I don't know how it recognizes it, but you want to keep your sim card OUT of the phone while doing this, because I put the sim card back into my iphone and within 3 minutes, my device on the mywireless site had automatically changed back to the iphone (sms package still intact). My guess is that the wap/push still needs to be added manually (I tried putting my iphone sim into my blackberry and hopping around on media net, but I couldn't connect to any of the media net sites. Opera mini worked though.)

Sorry for the long-winded message(s). I have nothing to do and I can't sleep. :D:D:D:D:D

Professionalism pays off. Called ATT made sure I was speaking to level 2(i never speak to level 1) and made sure that my plan was moved over to the non-iphone unlimited plan. I did this instead versus getting MMS enabled in case it gets cleared out and turned off by ATT again.

I totally agree with you. however, I work for the company, so getting the settings today was easy. I know all my settings are right. I think it's my ipcc file I loaded. I think it's a bad one. I don't know. anyone want to call on my behalf Id they think they can get it done?
