Nice, but why would anybody want to cut and paste a phone number to the keypad when simply holding down a phone number anywhere will trigger the call the number option?

Good point :) There must be a reason though, and, it can't hurt to have the option, right?

Can somebody please check if you are now able to save videos received through mms? I know that you are able through email... thanks

Pretty sure you can't. I just tried, even though it's a video I tried to send because I can't receive. I'll submit it to Apple now for us.

Yes, but on a 2G and 3G its not very accurate, at least according to an engineer I spoke to at Apple not too long ago. Just because it can be done, doesn't mean that it works properly.

From what I've experienced that is true. The percentage read out was a good 10% or so away from both the small battery icon in the top right of the screen and the large (charging) battery on the lock screen. It's nice to have but when the function is not there it's pointless to keep.

Well it isn't perfect. Sometimes it doesn't detect it I've found. Especially numbers written out like 1-800-APL-CARE, etc.

Wi-fi

Has the wi-fi been improved in the update for anyone enduring wi-fi issues? Im going to the store tomorrow and if it just needs the update then I can wait it out.

Great catch!! That's awesome. I submitted that issue to Bug Reporter, looks like it helped :)

I think I figured out "the point" of it. It's to be able to "Copy" a number from the dialpad to anywhere else on your phone. This is why it's there in my opinion. Even though you can "Paste" a number there as well, I believe it's main purpose is for copying.

On the bottom of the screen you get 3 options, forward to next picture, back, or save.

You're lucky. I wish mine did that. I bet my 3.1 software does do that on my 3Gs, but it will only show up if I tap-hold a RECEIVED video. Am I right?

BTW, how would you "Copy" a received MMS video?

Please answer both questions.

Rogers, in Canada. We have it officially since 3.0 release.

Wow. You're lucky. Please respond to my other post to you regrading more on this subject and if you can post a snapshot of the Forward, Back, Save, that would be great.

It has been available since 3.0, MMS picture and video. When received or sent you tap the screen a transparent menu bar at the bottom appears with the options.

group sms

What about the sending of group sms being sent as group mms? is this fixed in 3.1 ?

Hell of a lot faster on my 2G iphone. 3.0 was a bit choppy and the transitions between apps was terrible. But 3.1 has fixed most of that

Then how do you "Copy" a photo or video? When I hold one down, I only get one option -- "Copy".

You can finally copy and paste info in Contacts! (Before you had to hit "Edit" then click the number to edit it, and copy it that way)

What about in the calendar? Like in the location field? I always have conference calls and i'd like to be able to dial or copy from there.

You can if you place the number in "Notes" section of event. Not "Location". Does this help?
